  • Publication number: 20250113430
Abstract: Technologies for reducing the impact of inductors on electrical traces are disclosed. In an illustrative embodiment, conductive ink is applied in a silk screen layer on top of a solder mask of a circuit board. The conductive ink forms shield regions under and near where inductors are placed and/or where a power plane is routed. The conductive shield regions may be coupled to a ground plane in the circuit board. The conductive shield regions can partially shield traces under and near the inductor, reducing the noise induced on nearby traces. The conductive shield regions can allow traces for high-speed input/output signals to be routed closer to the inductor, reducing the size, number of layers, and/or cost of the circuit board. In some embodiments, the conductive shield regions can shield emissions from the power plane, reducing interference on antennas of a device.

  • Publication number: 20250045219
Abstract: Examples include techniques associated with causing a change to a configuration to access a storage device based on determined bandwidth capabilities for read and write transactions to the storage device and based on a determined needed bandwidth to complete monitored read and write transactions to the storage device. The configuration to be based, at least in part, on coupling to the storage device via a storage interface over a serial bus and the configuration to include a link width for the serial bus, a link speed for the serial bus, or a power state to operate the storage device.

  • Publication number: 20240104043
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a module which can be inserted into or removed from a computing device by a user. The module includes an input-output port which is configured for a desired specification, such as USB-A, USB-C, Thunderbolt, DisplayPort or HDMI. The port can be provided on an expansion card such as an M.2 card for communicating with a host platform. The host platform can communicate with different types of modules in a standardized way so that complexity and costs are reduced. In another aspect, with a dual port module, the host platform can concurrently send/receive power through one port and send/receive data from the other port.

  • Publication number: 20230090403
Abstract: Methods for automatic calibration of a braille interface. In embodiments, a user begins typing braille characters in 2×3 matrix into an interface without an initial calibration step. The implementing system detects the patterns of the keystrokes and determines the orientation and placement of the user's hands by comparing the keystrokes against known braille characters, identifying which row and column of the 2×3 matrix within which each finger is positioned. The interface is then calibrated based on the identified positions of the fingers within the 2×3 matrix. For touch interfaces, the surface area of each finger may also be used to enhance identification of fingers. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
