Patent number: 11973708Abstract: Methods and systems for reporting CSI and selecting optimal beams using ML. The CSI report is sent to a gNB, which includes feedback parameters, computed and predicted using ML. The feedback parameters are computed using measurements performed using CSI-RS. Values of the feedback parameters likely at future, based on channel variation and the measurements, are pre-dieted using ML. The computed and predicted feedback parameters are included in the CSI report. Optimal CSI-RS resource allocation and optimal CSI reporting periodicity are determined using ML and sent to the gNB. The CSI report is encoded using the ML based model. The RSRP of the beams are predicted using ML for beam selection.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2020Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Ashok Kumar Reddy Chavva, Shubham Khunteta, Sripada Kadambar, Anirudh Reddy Godala, Vaishal Tijoriwala, Venkata Ratnakar Rao Rayavarapu, Naga Santha Mohan Rao Goli, Anshuman Nigam

Publication number: 20210204351Abstract: A method, mobile device (101) and radio access network RAN (102) are disclosed for suspending and re-establishing a radio resource control (RRC) connection. In some examples, the mobile device (101) indicates a preference to have the RRC connection either suspended or released. In other examples, RAN (102) sends to the mobile device (101) a connection suspend command message instructing the mobile device to suspend a RRC connection with the RAN (102). The mobile device (101), in response to the connection suspend command message, suspends the RRC connection. When the RRC connection is suspended the mobile device (101) cannot transmit or receive user plane data to the RAN (102) and performs functions the same as or similar to idle mode functions. On suspension, RRC connection information is stored and can be used to re-establish the suspended RRC connection.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2021Publication date: July 1, 2021Applicant: BlackBerry LimitedInventors: Venkata Ratnakar Rao RAYAVARAPU, Nicholas William ANDERSON, Richard Charles BURBIDGE, Gordon Peter YOUNG
