  • Patent number: 11611496
Abstract: A remote server monitors the health of a network of computing devices through hierarchical composite indicators by obtaining performance attributes from computing devices in the network. The server generates a composite indicator associated with one or more of the computing device based on a combination of at least two performance attributes of the computing device(s). The server monitors the composite indicator and, responsive to a determination that the composite indicator indicates an alert condition, generates an alert associated with the computing device(s). Additionally, if the alert condition is subject to remediation, the server causes at least one of the computing devices to execute a command to provide remediation of the alert condition.

  • Patent number: 11271835
Abstract: A remote server monitors a network of computing devices through hierarchical composite indicators by obtaining telemetry data from a computing device in a network of computing devices. The telemetry data includes performance attributes of the computing device. The server generates a composite indicator associated with the computing device based on a combination of at least two performance attributes of the computing device. The server monitors the composite indicator and, responsive to a determination that the composite indicator meets an alert threshold, generates an alert associated with the computing device. Additionally, the server can monitor the health of the network of computing devices based on composite indicators from multiple computing devices in the network.

  • Patent number: 10841172
Abstract: In one example embodiment, a server, using Border Gateway Protocol Link-State, obtains, from a particular network node of a plurality of network nodes in a network fabric configured for segment routing, network topology information of the plurality of network nodes including segment identifiers of the plurality of network nodes. The particular network node gathered the network topology information from other network nodes of the plurality of network nodes using an underlay routing protocol. Based on the network topology information, the server generates a visualization of a topology of the network fabric including the plurality of network nodes and a plurality of links connecting the plurality of network nodes.

  • Patent number: 10536398
Abstract: In an example, there is disclosed an example of a system and method for plug and play in a controller based network. Aspects of the embodiments are directed to a network switch of a fabric network, the network switch configured to detect a connection of a device to the network switch, the device compliant with a remote integrated services engine (RISE) protocol; receive, from the device, a programming instruction for switching compliant with the RISE protocol; and distribute the programming instruction to one or more other network switches of the fabric network.

  • Patent number: 10491522
Abstract: In an example, a system and method for data plane integration is described. Aspects of the embodiments are directed to a service application connected to a switch of a network fabric and a method of data plane integration performed at a service appliance, the service appliance providing firewall functionality. The service appliance can receive a data packet from a network location; determine a flow owner of the data packet based on a hashing table; and transmit the data packet based on the determined flow owner of the data packet.

  • Patent number: 9729422
Abstract: A feature trace capability may be provided for features including, but not limited to, automatic quality of service (auto QoS), power over Ethernet (PoE), and fabric compatibility. A network command may be implemented with the capability to validate features across a network path or the network as a whole. The output of this network command may result in the display of details about supported features. Such a command may also result in a listing of what devices require upgrades to support any number of features of interest. Embodiments of the feature trace capability may be configured such that the query gets terminated once a final subnet (or endpoint) is reached. Alternatively, the feature trace capability may be configured such that the query gets terminated after a maximum hop count, or trace total (trace_ttl) is reached. Such a limit may prevent the continuous flooding of the network.
