  • Publication number: 20240122474
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for retinal imaging. The type of image to be captured is selected by a user. Corresponding fixation stimulus is displayed on a fixation screen of the disclosed device for the subject to fix their gaze on. The device comprises illumination sources and, illumination optics and imaging optics, a 3-D accelerometer, and a camera. Signal from the 3-D accelerometer, and the video of the eye of the subject captured by camera are used by a computing device that uses AI techniques to vary the position of the fixation stimulus to obtain a stabilized image of the eye of the subject. The position of the fixation stimulus is varied to compensate for the movement of the handheld device to obtain a stabilized retinal image. Once stabilized, the image is captured.

  • Publication number: 20240108218
Abstract: Preterm babies have a high risk of retinopathy. Doctors conduct fundus fluorescein angiography to determine the state of the blood vessels in their retinas. Disclosed is a system (100) for conducting fundus fluorescein angiography configured for light weight, small size, and providing a sharp, high contrast angiograph. The disclosed system uses a moulded annular light source, blue and white LEDs (120) for providing the illumination, an planar annular emission filter (125) for filtering the blue light, and imaging optics (130) configured for reducing aberration. The imaging optics (130) comprises a mechanical iris (136) to control the amount of light reaching an image sensor (150), a tuneable liquid lens (141) for focusing the image, a green barrier filter (146) that may be removed from the path of the light—for conducting fundus photography. The white LEDs and the mechanical iris (136) may be used for conducting fundus photography.

  • Publication number: 20230263390
Abstract: Objective refraction error measuring apparatuses are known. Once the measurement is done, there is no known method for confirming if the measurements are correct. Disclosed is an apparatus (200) wherein once the error is measured, the determined values of the error are used to set the characteristics of a tunable lens (230) so as to correct the error in the vision of the subject. The objective error is measured again while the subject viewing through the tunable lens so set. Objective refraction error is again measured. If the error measured is now within predefined limits, the first measurement is deemed correct and the values are out put so that glasses with those values may be prescribed to the subject.

  • Publication number: 20230255473
Abstract: This disclosure discloses an apparatus and method thereof for a comprehensive visual function testing apparatus. A plurality of visual test stimuli may be spatiotemporally sequenced and presented to the subject undergoing visual function tests including, but not limited to, visual acuity test, stereoscopic vision test, field of vision test and contrast sensitivity test. Furthermore, by combining all the elements under the same computational device, it streamlines the conventional visual function testing process, provides automated visual function testing of subjects, and refraction correction when required, such as for perimetry testing. Such an apparatus opens up unprecedented possibilities for refining the visual function testing process. High degree of integration resulting from adoption of the features disclosed, a variety of compact, portable, wearable embodiments may be achieved.

  • Patent number: 7624092
Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for the identification of data elements. A user input is received, comprising a data element and a context in which the data element is being used. The user input is sent to a terminology database. A list of entries is received, each entry having a first unique identifier (UID) and a second UID. The first represents a concept associated with the data element, and the second represents a specific description of the concept associated with the data element. A user input is received selecting an entry. The UIDs corresponding to the selected entry are directly associated with the data set. In some implementations, directly associating the UIDs with the data set comprises generating markup code comprising the UIDs. The invention lays the groundwork for a more efficient solution for the features/requirements related to versioning, updating, and translation in the realm of hypertexts.
