  • Patent number: 9439075
Abstract: In one embodiment, during an authentication process between a network device and an access terminal, an authentication message for access to the network is received. The network device is configured to allow access to an IP network. The network device determines one or more capabilities of the access terminal from the authentication message. An action is then performed based on the one or more capabilities of the access terminal. The action may include using the capabilities to set up a session with the access terminal. Also, the network device may send its own capabilities to the access terminal in an authentication response. Accordingly, a capability negotiation between the access terminal and network device may be provided during an authentication process. This may facilitate a faster session setup as capabilities are exchanged during authentication can be used in the configuration of the session.

  • Publication number: 20150067832
Abstract: In one implementation, a phishing scam involves a communication sent to a user by an impersonator. Rather than detect the communication and verify the identity of the sender, the data entry of the user is monitored. For example, an example embodiment scans data entry from a user for a security word and queries a list of authorized terms for the security word. In response to the security word being included in the list of authorized terms, a destination address associated with the security word is identified. A list of authorized destination addresses is queried with the destination address associated with the security word.

  • Patent number: 8351928
Abstract: Synchronizing mobility messaging includes receiving an Internet Protocol (IP) address at a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server. The IP address is sent by a home agent of a mobile client, where the home agent has a mobility binding for the mobile client. A DHCP request requesting an IP address for the mobile client is received from the mobile client. The DHCP server assigns the IP address to the mobile client. A DHCP acknowledgement comprising the assigned IP address is sent to the mobile client.

  • Patent number: 7813316
Abstract: In one embodiment, mobile nodes may be pre-provisioned with a static home agent address and a static home address. The home agent address may be the same for all the mobile nodes. The home address may be a unique identifier for the mobile node in a network. A registration request from a mobile node may be sent to the home agent address. A load balancer may be configured to receive the registration request at the home agent address. The load balancer is then configured to determine a home agent in the plurality of home agents to send the registration request to. The load balancer determines which home agent to send the request to based on the home address for the mobile node. The load balancer then sends the request to the determined home agent.

  • Patent number: 7778220
Abstract: The invention relates to load balancing the binding creation on a home agent with a mobile node in an IPV6 network. A home agent serving a prefix learns about load on other home agents and when a home agent address discovery request from a mobile is received by a home agent, the home agent processing the message returns addresses of the least loaded home agent to the mobile node.

  • Patent number: 7408897
Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for selecting an optimal home agent in a mobile IP network, are provided. The method enables selection of a topologically optimal home agent for establishing an efficient communication link. The method includes retrieving a set of home agents that are available for selection, and identifying a home agent from amongst the set of home agents. A home agent is selected based on one or more pre-defined parameters such as number of hops and time delay.
