  • Patent number: 9285964
Abstract: Disclosed are methods that may include determining that a focus setting of a first web page interaction state is an invalid focus setting. A navigation history log may be accessed that includes an indication of a second web page interaction state accessed by a user prior to the user accessing the first web page interaction state. Based upon the navigation history log, a third web page interaction state that includes an interactive element with a valid focus setting may be identified. The third web page interaction state may be presented to the user in which the interactive element with the valid focus setting having focus in the presented third web page interaction state.

  • Publication number: 20150199651
Abstract: A computer-implemented method invokes a task when a respective event in a respective user's calendar meets predefined criteria. The method furthermore includes receiving from the task information identifying a second event related to the respective event, and adding the second event to the respective user's calendar. For example, invoking the task may include accessing an application for making travel arrangements, and adding the second event to the user's calendar may includes adding a travel event to the user's calendar. In another example, invoking the task may include invoking a contact application for managing a set of contacts of the respective user. In this example, at least some of the contacts in the respective user's contact list have contact locations.

  • Patent number: 9070305
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining the status of traffic lights through a mobile device and communicating the status to the user of the device. The mobile device detects its geographical location, direction and elevation. The mobile device also receives information related to traffic lights, such as location and type. The device calculates positional deviation from the device to the traffic light and generates one or more prompts in the form of audible or tactile cues that progressively guide the user to point the device at the traffic light. The mobile device detects the image and color of the traffic light and determines the illumination and sign status of the traffic light. Then the mobile device communicates the traffic light status to the user.

  • Publication number: 20120050530
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for controlling a portable electronic device. The device includes a built-in image capturing device. The system detects, through the image capturing device, motions of user finger over the image capturing device. The system determines a pattern of the detected motions using timing information related to the detected motions, and controls the portable electronic device based on the determined pattern. The system also receives inputs from other input devices associated with the portable electronic device, and controls the device based on combination of the determined pattern and the received inputs.

  • Patent number: 8060489
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for realizing an interactive, virtual bookshelf representing physical books and digitally stored books of the user. Using a search query, the Web is searched using search metadata to identify a desired book. Library metadata corresponding to the physical books and digitally stored books of the user is then searched using the search metadata to determine whether the desired book is present in the virtual on-line bookshelf. Results indicative of whether the desired book is present on the virtual on-line bookshelf can be displayed.
