    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of reducing inflammation in a patient with a chronic condition, such as Parkinson's disease or Alzheimer's disease. The method includes applying surface acoustic waves to the patient, such that the surface acoustic waves promote receptor mediated uptake of a target protein. For Parkinson's disease, the application of SAW promoted Fc-receptor mediated uptake of ?-synuclein to reduce inflammation in the patient and alleviate symptoms related to Parkinson's disease.
