Abstract: A transponder card for a nuclear reactor control rod drive control system is provided. The control system includes a control processor and a plurality of electrical devices operationally coupled to the control processor. The transponder card is configured to receive commands from the control processor, energize an appropriate electrical device when commanded, detect a failure in control circuitry of the transponder card, send a failure alarm, and remove power from an electrical device during a control circuitry failure event when there is no command to energize the electrical device.

Abstract: The energy recovery device includes a housing having a central shaft which is connected to a lever operating a work-load system capable of generating work-load forces. The central shaft is also connected to a disk having four posts generally parallel to the shaft and initially located at positions corresponding to the four major points of a compass. Within each corner of the housing, a helically coiled spring is positioned over a support post. Each spring has two extending arms which contact two respective adjacent posts on the disk so as to maintain the spring under tension. When the lever is at the neutral position, i.e., when no work-load forces are generated, the recovery forces generated by the four springs within the housing are generally balanced. As the lever is displaced from the neutral position by a driving force, the disk rotates whereby the angular displacement between the arms of any spring decreases. Once the disk is displaced, the spring forces aid in continuing displacement of the disk.

Abstract: This invention is a shopping cart display guide selector for attachment to the handle of a shopping cart. The display guide selector has an outer cylinder clamped to the handle of the shopping cart. An inner cylinder is rotatably carried therein. A knob allows a shopper to turn the inner cylinder to any given position. On the inner cylinder is attached a sheet of paper containing information such as the store specials. A magnifying viewing window is contained in the outer cylinder so that a shopper may easily read information contained on the paper. By removal of a pin, the inner cylinder may be removed and the paper replaced to give other information. Friction between the inner cylinder and outer cylinder maintains the inner cylinder in any position to which it may be rotated by the shopper.
