  • Patent number: 4589332
Abstract: A flashing system for a grain drying bin is described to prevent the accumulation of grain between the juncture of the grain drying floor positioned within the bin and the interior surface of the vertical wall of the bin. The flashing system is comprised of a plurality of flashing members secured together in an end-to-end relationship so as to extend around the entire inner wall surface of the bin at the lower end of the drying floor. The upper ends of the flashing members are secured to the wall of the bin and extend downwardly and inwardly therefrom to the perforated drying floor.

  • Patent number: 4587893
Abstract: A tension band for a grain drying bin is described which extends around the lower end of a conical-shaped drying floor positioned within the bin. The lower end of the grain drying floor is secured to the tension band which is secured to the wall of the bin so that the weight of the grain drying floor is transferred to the concrete foundation supporting the bin through horizontally spaced and vertically disposed stiffeners.

  • Patent number: 4426937
Abstract: A heat exchanger furnace includes a firebox, a heat exchanger housing in communication with the firebox for receiving combustion gases therefrom, and a plenum housing surrounding the heat exchanger housing so as to define a plenum chamber therebetween. A plurality of baffles are supported in vertically spaced apart relation within the heat exchanger housing, which baffles include peripheral edges disposed in clearance relation from the housing sidewalls whereby hot combustion gases rising within the heat exchanger housing are directed outwardly adjacent the heat exchanger sidewall for increased heat transfer to the plenum chamber. Exhaust tubes at the top of the heat exchanger housing may be directed through the plenum chamber for providing additional heat transfer surfaces therein. The firebox may have a frusto conical shaped sidewall whereby the combustion surface area may be adjusted with the level of fuel in the firebox.

  • Patent number: 4424041
Abstract: A boat is disclosed having a conventional inboard motor operatively connected to a primary propeller on the exterior of the boat. A hydraulic motor is operatively connected to the boat in the proximity of the primary propeller. A hydraulic circuit including a hydraulic pump is operated by the inboard motor and is connected to the hydraulic motor for actuating the hydraulic motor. An electrically operated solenoid valve is imposed in the hydraulic circuit to selectively by-pass hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic circuit away from the hydraulic motor. The hydraulic motor is pivotally connected to the boat so that when in a first position, it will drive the boat forwardly, and when in a second position, it will drive the boat rearwardly. Conventional controls are provided to withdraw power from the primary propeller when the hydraulic motor is in operation.

  • Patent number: 4367689
Abstract: The water recreational vehicle of the present invention consists of a rigid housing mounted on a floatatable tube. The vehicle is powered by two hand operated battery powered motors with propellers. The vehicle is designed to have increased ballast and maneuverability.

  • Patent number: 4118875
Abstract: A portable grain drying apparatus comprising a wheeled frame having a cylindrical housing mounted thereon and extending upwardly therefrom. The housing is provided with a perforated wall portion to permit the escape of air therethrough. An inverted conical-shaped perforated lower floor is provided in the housing above the lower end thereof. The lower floor is provided with a plurality of diamond-shaped air passageways positioned thereon around a centrally disposed grain discharge opening formed in the lower floor. The air passageways also define radially extending grain passageways therebetween to facilitate the even flow of the grain on the lower floor towards the grain discharge opening.

  • Patent number: 4035928
Abstract: The invention comprises an inverted frusto-conical shaped perforated floor which is mounted in a conventional grain drying bin in a raised position relative to the base floor thereof. The perforated floor has a plurality of grain discharge openings formed therein, each of which are selectively closed by a trough-like valve. The valves have varying lengths to obtain better grain distribution on the base floor. The valves are controlled by a manually operated means. A tube tensioner is provided on the bottom surface of the perforated floor to stiffen and strengthen the perforated floor. A series of bands are mounted above the perforated floor to maintain the level of the grain being dried substantially parallel to the upper surface of the perforated floor for evenness of drying. The grain is dumped on the perforated floor and the dried air is passed upwardly through the perforated floor to dry the grain.

  • Patent number: 3943636
Abstract: A hydraulic torque convertor is disclosed which is particularly well-adapted for use with an apparatus for drying grain. The apparatus for drying grain comprises a conical shaped perforated floor which is mounted in a conventional grain drying bin in a raised position relative to the base floor thereof. The perforated floor has a plurality of grain discharge openings formed adjacent the outer ends thereof, each of which are selectively closed by a trap door valve means. An electric motor is operatively connected to the hydraulic torque convertor which is operatively connected to the valve means for moving the valve means between open and closed positions responsive to the temperature of the grain positioned on the floor. The hydraulic torque convertor comprises a disc shaped rotor which is connected to the output shaft of the electric motor. A housing rotatably embraces the end of the output shaft and the rotor and is operatively connected to a horizontally disposed shaft extending therefrom.
