  • Patent number: 4233881
Abstract: A wall fastener structure which is particularly adapted for use with plasterboard walls can be constructed so as to use an expansion member and an expanding member. The expansion member is preferably a unitary article formed out of a somewhat resilient polymer material so as to include a sleeve, a flange extending outwardly from one end of the sleeve, and two arms extending outwardly from the other end of the sleeve. These arms are internally dimensioned so that a blade like shank on the expanding member may be inserted and twisted so as to cam or force outwardly the arms into engagement with the interior of a hole in a wall in a similar structure. The expanding member also includes a head limiting the amount that it can be inserted into the expansion member.

  • Patent number: 4170914
Abstract: A chewing gum dispenser is described wherein a rectangular box having a top, a bottom, two sides, a front and a rear end is dimensioned to contain a plurality of sticks of gum when the sticks of gum are stacked one upon another within the interior of the box. The front end of the box has a slot extending from one side of the box to the other side adjacent to the top of the box. The box has an elongated hole in its top surface and a spring attached to the bottom of the box and extending within the interior of the box toward the top surface. The spring urges sticks of gum within the box toward the top such that the uppermost stick of gum fits against the inside of the top of the box resulting in a portion of the top stick of gum being exposed through the elongated hole. By frictionally engaging the top stick of gum with a finger inserted through the elongated hole the top stick of gum can be partially pushed out of the box through the slot.

  • Patent number: 4068342
Abstract: An effective, relatively inexpensive, improved caster support structure can be manufactured by molding an appropriate polymer, preferably polypropylene, around a retainer forming a part of a conventional bearing into the shape of a housing. The housing is preferably shaped so as to include an elongated first cylinder which is coaxial with a second cylinder of greater diameter than the first. The bearing is located within a cavity at the end of a second cylinder remote from the first cylinder and is held in place because the portion of the retainer adjacent to the end of the second cylinder remote from the first is of smaller diameter than at least another portion of the retainer. The retainer is held against movement in such a way that it cannot be displaced by the shape of the retainer and housing and by a compressive type force resulting from a polymer orientation.

  • Patent number: 3981042
Abstract: An improved castor for use with pile carpet can be built so as to include a plurality of separate wheels located on a sleeve which in turn is rotatably mounted on an axle. Holders are provided to secure the wheels in place on the sleeve in side-by-side relationship so that normally the wheels will rotate together as a unit and so that the wheels are capable of rotating independently of one another. The wheels are provided with non-pointed bosses extending from their peripheries which are intended to engage a pile carpet so as to avoid crushing of the piles of the carpet. The structure is intended to distribute weight on the castor over a reasonably large area of the carpet and is intended to facilitate the castor being turned or rotated during use without the movement of the castor detrimentally affecting the carpet.
