Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to messaging and provide a method, system and computer program product for emotional state integrated messaging. In one embodiment of the invention, a method for emotional state message integration can be provided. The method can include receiving a message from a message composer and detecting meta-data associated with the message. The method further can include retrieving emotional state information from the meta-data and rendering the message. Finally, the method can include processing the emotional state information in association with the rendering of the message.

Abstract: The present invention provides the copying and pasting of a portlet in a portal environment. A method in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes: providing a first instance of a portlet, the first instance of the portlet including encoded information; copying the encoded information; and creating a second instance of the portlet using the encoded information. The encoded information includes an identification of the portlet and configuration parameters applied to the portlet.

Abstract: A system and method for implementing personalized alerts utilizing a user registry in instant messenger. A first client logs on to a server utilizing an instant messenger program. The first client selects at least one attribute that describes at least one user in a user registry. After selecting the attributes, the first client selects a personalized alert to associate with the selected attributes. If a second client with characteristics described by the selected attributes sends the first client a message, the assigned personalized alert will be activated.

Abstract: A method and system for generating an individualized electronic message is described. The method includes receiving at an electronic message server a source message and generating a plurality of individualized electronic messages based upon an association between respective body portions of the source message and intended recipient groups. The source message includes a first body portion having a first group identifier and a second body portion having a second group identifier.

Abstract: Described is a method for indicating a communication availability of a first instant messaging user to a second instant messaging user. A graphical parameter of a graphical feature for display on a user interface of the second instant messaging user is set in one of a plurality of states according to the communication availability of the first instant messaging user. A user state and a user location of the first instant messaging user are displayed on the user interface of the second instant messaging user in response to a selection of the displayed graphical feature by the second instant messaging user. One or more alternative communication methods for communicating with the first instant messaging user are displayed on the user interface of the second instant messaging user in accordance with a communication policy defined by the first instant messaging user.

Abstract: Described is a method for indicating a communication availability of a first instant messaging user to a second instant messaging user. An icon is displayed on a user interface of the second instant messaging user to indicate at least one of a user state and a user location of the first instant messaging user. A graphical parameter of the displayed icon is set to one of a plurality of states in response to the communication availability of the first instant messaging user. The communication availability is determined according to a communication policy dependent on the user state and the user location of the first instant messaging user.
