  • Publication number: 20080042330
Abstract: A door closer includes a body formed with a cylinder and a piston system located in the cylinder and functionally connectable to the door. The piston system divides the cylinder into a first cylinder volume on a first side of the piston system and a second cylinder volume on a second side of the piston system. A spring located in the second cylinder volume. A flow channel formed in the body guides flow of fluid from the first cylinder volume to the second cylinder volume, and a control valve for regulates rate of fluid flow through the flow channel. A filter is positioned across the flow channel upstream of the control valve relative to flow of fluid through the flow channel from the first cylinder volume to the second cylinder volume. The filter presents a filter area greater than the cross-sectional area of the flow channel to incoming flow to the filter and presents a filter area substantially equal to the cross-sectional area of the flow channel to outgoing flow from the filter.

  • Publication number: 20060196008
Abstract: A door closer includes a body having an external surface and defining an interior space. The body is formed with a passage extending from the external surface of the door closer body and communicating with the interior space. A valve member is located in the passage between the interior space and the external surface of the door closer body. The valve member has a gasket groove and a gasket is fitted in the gasket groove. The gasket groove is configured to allow the gasket to protrude from the groove and/or break when the pressure in the interior space exceeds the pressure at the external surface by a predetermined amount and thereby allow door closer fluid in the interior space to escape from the door closer.

  • Patent number: 6877278
Abstract: A door closing arrangement includes a first door closer for closing a first door leaf, the first door closer being positioned on the opposite side of the first door leaf from the its hinge, and a second door closer for closing a second door leaf. The distal end of the pull arm of the first door closer moves along a guide member in a direction towards the second edge of the door frame during movement of the first door leaf from a fully open position to a partially closed position and moves along the guide member in a direction towards the first edge of the door frame during movement of the first door leaf from the partially closed position to a fully closed position. The distal end of the second pull arm move along the guide member during closing of the second door leaf at least initially in a direction towards the first edge of the door frame.

  • Patent number: 6742302
Abstract: A closure sequence controller for a pair of first and second door leaves pivotable with respect to a door frame includes an elongate guide rail for mounting to the door frame, a first elongate sliding bar positioned in the guide rail and functionally connected to the first door leaf in a manner such that the first sliding bar moves in response to pivotal movement of the first door leaf relative to the door frame, and a sequence control unit installed in the guide rail and functionally connected to the first sliding bar. The sequence control unit includes a lock body structure defining a chamber through which the first sliding bar extends and having a guiding surface that is inclined with respect to the first sliding bar. A blocking member is located in the chamber and movable therein longitudinally of the first sliding bar.

  • Patent number: 6564510
Abstract: A closure sequence controller for a double door arrangement in which the double door arrangement is provided with a first door closer and a first pull arm for closing a first door leaf and with a second door closer and a second pull arm for closing a second door leaf. A guide rail guides the distal ends of the pull arms relative to the door closers. The closure sequence controller includes a connection piece for transmitting a pulling force from the distal end of the first pull arm to the closure sequence controller. The closure sequence controller prevents movement of the distal end of the second pull arm in the guide rail past the closure sequence controller until the distal end of the first pull arm has exerted the pulling force on the closure sequence controller through the connection piece.

  • Patent number: 5943736
Abstract: A door closer includes a casing-like body enclosing a piston member, which is movable back and forth according to the movements of a door and is in cooperation with at least one closer spring, and a closer shaft and a pinion member connected thereto for transmitting the force of the movement of the door to the piston member. The pinion member is mounted on the closer shaft eccentrically with respect to its rolling curve. The piston member is casing-like and is provided with a toothing arranged at its inner surface. The rolling curve of the piston's toothing is at least substantially linear and is inclined relative to the axis of movement of the piston member. The pinion member is located inside the piston member in cooperation with the toothing of the piston member so that the force transmission moment of the pinion member is at its maximum in a position corresponding to the closed position of the door.

  • Patent number: 5083448
Abstract: An electromechanical door lock comprises a lock body (1), in which is a dead bolt (3) which can be dead locked in its protruding position and electrically withdrawn into the lock body, a latch (4) which is spring loaded to be protruding from the lock body and which centralizes the dead bolt in an opening in a striking plate (18) arranged for the door lock, and force transmission means (8-14) for transmitting force from an electrical operating device (7) to the dead bolt (3). Said latch (4) includes in a way known as such a body member (4c) moveable inside the lock body to which is jointed a wedge-shaped member (4a, 4b), protruding at least partly out from the lock body when the latch is in the protruding position, so that the latch (4) can be pressed inside the lock body when a force acts on said wedge-shaped member (4a, 4b) from either side of the lock body in the direction of the door opening or closing.
