  • Patent number: 6266332
Abstract: The invention relates to a cellular radio system for transmitting communication signals from the base to the base station controller. The system includes transmission units which are used for transmitting communication signals between base stations and the base station controller. The communication signals feed a base station specific identification message to the base station controller by utilizing a predetermined communication channel in response to the base station initialization process.

  • Patent number: 5940412
Abstract: A method for decoding information in a telecommunication network, in which the information frames are received, the data is buffered, decoded and a parity check is made. Before transmitting the data further in the transmission network an additional check is made. Depending on the outcome of the parity check and the additional check the frames to be transmitted further in the network are marked as faultless or defective. The result of the additional check is established from the processing of earlier received data.

  • Patent number: 5737359
Abstract: A method for supervising base station radio channels to detect channels with interference and/or poor quality, by measuring and analysing connections separately for each radio channel. For instance, radio channels with poor quality and/or interference in the frequency hopping sequence can be detected, eliminated from the frequency hopping sequence, and replaced by others, while the poor quality and/or interference remains a problem.

  • Patent number: 5572510
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for measuring the condition of a receiving antenna of a base station in a TDMA radio system, in which TDMA channel structures according to ETSI/GSM recommendation 05.02 are used, by means of test measurements performed in predetermined TDMA time slots. According to the invention, the test measurements are performed, without disturbing the normal operation of the base station and without allocating a traffic channel, during time slots of an IDLE frame of a channel structure TCH/F+SACCH/TF and/or during time slots of an IDLE frame of a channel structure SDCCH/8 according to the ETSI/GSM recommendation 05.02.

  • Patent number: 5375119
Abstract: A method for handling data transmission frames of variable length in the interface between two networks, and for writing them into a cyclic buffer memory (3) wherein the data transmission frames are made of a header field (H) containing at least control data, a data field (D) and an end field of variable length. To obtain flexible buffering, the buffer memory (3) is divided into more than one logical section, each having a header field and a data field. The indicated real length of an incoming frame is taken into account: in the buffer memory operations in such a manner that the channel decoder (4) is interrupted for each frame section which have come from the channel to the area of the buffer, whereby the channel decoder reads the frame sections to its own memory, whereby the last interrupt related to the frame is made on the basis of the indicated real length of the frame when the last section of said frame is in the buffer.
