  • Patent number: 4610264
Abstract: A hydro-automatic valve with a cylindrical housing mounted vertically and having rigid upper and bottom ring shaped rests between which, within the cylindrical housing, interconnected upper and bottom face closure members are freely disposed. The upper face closure member is shaped as a disc with a hole in the central axis and has small legs arranged around its periphery extending vertically downwards with small teeth turned inwards towards the central axis. The small teeth are disposed freely in a shallow ring shaped groove in the surrounding surface of the bottom face closure member, which is shaped with a conical peak in the axis. At the bottom end of the bottom face closure member there is a deep ring shaped groove. This deep ring shaped groove is connected via parallel channels with the space between the upper and bottom face closure member.

  • Patent number: 4405084
Abstract: Apparatus for impulse spraying. A float valve is disposed at the lowest end of a liquid/gas accumulator which is connected via a connecting pipe having the float valve interposed therein to a hollow member having a vertically divided space to the upper end of which an outflow pipe leading to a sprinkler is connected. A water distribution pipe leading from a water supplying conduit is attached to the lower end of the divided space. A selectively operated shut-off valve in the hollow member is interposed between the outflow pipe and the connecting pipe, the shut-off valve functioning to shut off the outflow pipe when the water pressure in the upper end of the divided space in the hollow member is lower than that in the lower end of such divided space, and to open the outflow pipe when the pressure in the upper end of the divided space exceeds the pressure in the lower end of the divided space.

  • Patent number: 4272023
Abstract: A two-stage retractable sprinkler comprises a first-stage riser tube, with inner and outer walls forming an annular peripheral channel and with a first piston head at its open lower end guided in a stationary cylinder, and a second-stage riser tube with a second piston head at its closed lower end guided in the first-stage tube. The second piston head has a peripheral groove communicating with an axial bore of its tube through radial holes through which water entering the bottom of the guide cylinder can pass to an outlet at the top of the second-stage tube by way of a set of vertical slots, formed near the top of the inner wall of that tube, after both tubes have been elevated by the water pressure.

  • Patent number: 4270697
Abstract: An impulse-sinking hydrant having an upright cylindrical housing with a movable piston disposed therein and formed with a radial passageway and an upright stem having a first passageway communicating with the radial passageway, the upright stem extending above the housing in an upper position of the piston. The upper end of the housing communicates with a pressure-accumulative reservoir through a second passageway which lies in registration with the radial passageway when the piston is in the upper position. A supply conduit carrying water under pressure communicates with the reservoir through a third passageway and with the interior of the housing through a fourth passageway feeding into the lower end thereof for displacing the piston upwardly.

  • Patent number: 4254913
Abstract: A riser tube rigid with a piston head is vertically reciprocable in a cylindrical housing to which water under pressure may be admitted from the bottom to raise the tube into an elevated position, in which its tip extends above the ground, or through a lateral port near the top of the housing to lower the tube into a retracted position below ground. The piston head has a peripheral groove which communicates with the bore of the tube and, in the extended position, registers with an upper set of holes in the housing wall which are connected through a stationary external sleeve with a lower set of holes, lying then beneath the piston head, whereby water from a distributing pipe of an irrigation system can enter the riser tube after having elevated same into that position.

  • Patent number: 4201340
Abstract: An apparatus for the hydroautomatic sprinkling of land areas with hydrants which rise and lower which comprises a cylinder whose piston is displaceable by the water from one pipeline through either a long stroke or a short stroke depending upon the engagement of a guide with a selected groove in the piston to open a gate permitting water from this line to pass into a selected one of a group of hydrants, to drive the sprinkler upwardly and permit sprinkling. When pressure from another line is admitted to the opposite side of the cylinder the gate is closed.
