  • Patent number: 8017712
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a novel process for making a solid solventless MQ resin comprising the steps of (1)(A) feeding at least one MQ resin dispersed in a volatile solvent into an extrusion device, (2) removing the volatile solvent to form a solid solventless MQ resin; and (3) recovering the solid solventless MQ resin, provided steps (1) to (3) are completed without the addition of a linear silicone fluid.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 16, 2007
Date of Patent: September 13, 2011
    Assignee: Dow Corning Corporation
Inventors: Vicki Lynn Berry, Leon Neal Cook, Tina Marie Leaym, Randall Gene Schmidt
  • Publication number: 20100216940
Abstract: A coating composition, which may be a two-component coating composition, comprises a film-forming material, a crosslinking agent, and a nonlinear polysiloxane polymer having a functional group reactive with the crosslinking agent. The coating composition exhibits excellent scratch resistance and adhesion of repair coating layers and sealants, such as windshield sealants.

  • Patent number: 7604837
Abstract: A coating composition, particularly a clearcoat composition, which may be a two-component clearcoat composition, comprises a film-forming material, a crosslinking agent, and a nonlinear polysiloxane polymer having a functional group reactive with the crosslinking agent. The coating composition exhibits excellent scratch resistance and adhesion of repair coating layers and sealants, such as windshield sealants.

  • Patent number: 7452849
Abstract: A silicone MQ resin based composition provides the oil industry with Fluid Loss Control (FLC) additives for water based drilling muds which are non-damaging. The composition is capable of achieving zero fluid seepage through filter cake, and a short build time for the initial filter cake, while not reducing the return flow of oil from producing formations. The composition is stable in saturated salt at 120° C. and elevated pressures. The composition comprises solid particles of silicone resin with a glass transition temperature more than 70° C., and it contains solid particles of silicone resin with a particle size distribution in which ( ) at least 90 volume percent of solid particles of silicone resin have an average major axis diameter of 40 ?m or less than 40 ?m, and (ii) at least 10 volume percent of solid particles of silicone resin have an average major axis diameter of 2 ?m or less.
