    Abstract: An improved balloon for use in percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty. The improved balloon has a working section with a length greater than about 30 mm and a frusto-conical shape when inflated. The frusto-conical working section being tapered from the proximal end to the distal end to conform to the shape of the vessel to be dilated. The balloon may be used in connection with any dilatation catheter.
