  • Publication number: 20240118478
Abstract: A waveguide including first and second sections has a first molded optic material forming a portion of the geometry of one or more Bragg gratings disposed on one surface of the first section of the waveguide. Similarly, a second molded optic material forming another portion of the geometry of one or more Bragg gratings is disposed on one surface of the second section of the waveguide. Further, a photopolymer material is deposited on the first molded optic material. As the first and second sections are coupled, a waveguide is formed with a layer of photopolymer material disposed in the waveguide with the layer of photopolymer material having a geometry defined by the first and second molded optic materials. Bragg grating holograms are then recorded in the layer of photopolymer material, resulting in a waveguide with a plurality of Bragg gratings.

  • Patent number: 11011268
Abstract: A system for managing medical waste received in one or more containers placed at one or more medical facilities, for instance, for improved scheduling is disclosed. In some embodiments, the system comprises tracking modules coupled to the one or more containers, wherein each tracking module comprises, a plurality of LEDs positioned opposite to a plurality of light sensors, wherein each of the LED is being configured to periodically project a light beam towards a light sensor among plurality of light sensors for detecting a fill level of the container, and a controller in communication with the plurality of LEDs and the plurality of light sensors, wherein the controller is being configured for, periodically triggering the plurality of LEDs for projecting the light beams, receiving output data of the plurality of light sensors, the output data representing the fill level of the container, and communicating the fill level to a server.

  • Patent number: 10494280
Abstract: A process is disclosed for treating a Bayer process waste comprising a slurry containing bauxite residue and dissolved aluminum. The process comprises supplying the waste to a settling area to cause the bauxite residue to settle out of the slurry, thereby producing a supernatant liquor. The process further comprises neutralizing the supernatant liquor with a solution containing magnesium and calcium to produce a neutralized slurry containing precipitated hydrotalcites and thickening the neutralized slurry to produce a clarified effluent and a compacted slurry containing the precipitated hydrotalcites, part of said compacted slurry being recirculated to the supernatant liquor to be neutralized and/or directly to the neutralizing step. The clarified effluent and the compacted slurry are disposed of separately. Also disclosed is a plant for treating a Bayer process waste.

  • Patent number: 4366908
Abstract: The present invention relates to a support for articles mounted on a generally upright surface. The invention comprises a bracket, an insert body member which has two insert elements, and an elongated article support or rack attached to the insert body. The bracket is mounted on the upright surface and acts in cooperation with the surface to form an aperture. The two insert elements of the insert body member are generally perpendicular and each insert element is positionable in the aperture. When the body member is positioned for use with one insert element in the bracket, the article support extends generally perpendicular to the surface, and when positioned for storage with the other insert element in the bracket, the article support or rack is positioned generally parallel to the upright surface.
