  • Patent number: 5805674
Abstract: The security arrangement includes a computer processor unit coupled to a subscriber information memory to verify whether the user is an authorized user. The subscriber information memory stores subscriber voice information and variable security level information. A prompt memory coupled to the computer processor unit requests the user to input a set of verification information determined by the security level information. The input set of verification information is compared with stored subscriber voice information by a voice analyzer coupled to the subscriber information memory, wherein access to the system is enabled when the input set of verification information corresponds substantially with the subscriber voice information.

  • Patent number: 4400803
Abstract: A Wide Swath Precision Echo Sounder is provided by means of transmitting grammed acoustic pulses (pings) to insonify a target area and receiving the backscattered energy in two receivers separated vertically. The outputs of each receiver are stored (including phase information) and synthetic aperature outputs are generated. Each space resolution cell will have a phase associated with it for each receiver. Using the interferometer technique, the phase is converted into a depression angle and is combined with the slant range to the particular space cell to provide a numerical measure of the depth and lateral range to the particular spot under consideration.

  • Patent number: 4116153
Abstract: The cable includes bundles of plastic-impregnated nylon fibers acting both s strain members and strain accumulators. An inner core bundle is wound with an electrical conductor that stretches with the fibers when the cable is tensioned. The winding pitch assures that the fractional change in volume per fractional change in length is the same for the winding as it is for the fibers. An outer sheath-like bundle surrounds the inner bundle and its winding. Preferably, the cable is used as a limited length section of an otherwise conventional co-axial cable for suspending various objects from a ship. The section length is limited to that needed for its accumulator action.
