  • Patent number: 11046436
Abstract: A seating assembly may employ one or more of: a seat stagger, a seat overlap, and a seat angling to offer significant width and comfort gains and reduce the negative impact of width and leg room gains on seating density. With one seat of a pair staggered forward with respect to the other seat each may then be moved laterally and overlap (as seen from the front). The seating positions may be further improved by angling each seat away from their center arm rest area, reducing the encroaching effect of the overlap by pointing the passenger away from the overlap, reducing the visual impact of the staggered seating by pointing the passenger away from the nearest seat ahead, and improving leg room by directing the passenger's legs forward at an angle.

  • Patent number: 10988055
Abstract: A passenger seat having improved backrest comfort features. The passenger seat has a backrest with a movable portion. In one example, the movable portion is defined by an upper backrest portion that can slide up and away from a lower backrest portion to provide a gap between the two portions. The gap 5 may provide an arm or elbow rest for a seat occupant. The movability of the backrest can also provide enhanced comfort for the seat occupant by allowing adjustability of the head rest portion. In other examples, the movable portion comprises the entire backrest of the seat. When in a raised position, the backrest may also provide enhanced privacy to the seat occupant.

  • Patent number: 10800531
Abstract: Passenger accommodation systems are described. An example passenger accommodation system can be disposed in an aircraft and can include a passenger seating deck, a plurality of passenger seats disposed within the passenger seating deck, and a partition wall disposed within the passenger seating deck so as to separate the plurality of passenger seats into a first set of passenger seats and a second set of passenger seats. The partition wall can be aligned with a longitudinal axis extending in the direction of travel of the aircraft. Movement of passengers between the first set of seats and the second set of seats may not impeded by the partition wall.
