Abstract: An apparatus for aligning a latch to a striker of a vehicle door is provided. The apparatus includes a frame configured to be attached to the vehicle door, and a base coupled to the frame. The frame includes a body, a first arm and a second arm. The body defines an opening configured to receive the striker. The first arm extends from the body, and includes a first inner surface. The second arm extends from the body, and includes a second inner surface. The base includes an upper surface that defines a recess that extends inward from the end that abuts the frame. The recess is configured to receive a portion of the striker that passes through the opening in the frame. The first inner surface, the second inner surface, and the upper surface are configured to align the latch to the striker when the vehicle door is closed.

In an illustrative embodiment a hinge includes a hinge bracket, a hinge pin, a hinge arm, and a detent assembly. The hinge arm is rotatably connected to the hinge bracket via the hinge pin. The detent assembly is adapted to define a detent position of the hinge arm relative to the hinge bracket that is between an open position and a closed position of the hinge arm relative to the hinge bracket. The detent assembly includes a detent plate and a plunger assembly. The detent plate includes a recess formed therein.
