  • Patent number: 8326303
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of determining handoff parameters. One embodiment of the method includes determining values of a hysteresis for a handoff from a serving cell, one or more pairwise offset values for hand off between the serving cell and one or more neighbor cells, and one or more times-to-trigger (TTTs) for hand off between the serving cell and the neighbor cell(s). The values may be determined So that hand off is triggered beyond a first distance from the serving cell selected to avoid ping-ponging and within a second distance from the serving cell selected so that a mobile unit moving at a selected velocity does not travel beyond a third distance within the TTT.

  • Publication number: 20050056115
Abstract: The invention relates to the field of automobile driver safety in case of front impact to the automobile. The device includes means (11) of connection by lateral translation of plates (4 and 6) parallel to their shaft of rotation (5) and means of disconnection (8, 9) acting on the means of connection in order to disconnect the plates in case of front impact to the vehicle by allowing a respective separating movement via lateral translation of the plates parallel to their axes of rotation and bringing about their disconnection. In case of front impact to the vehicle, the clutch or brake pedal (2) tilts towards bottom wall of the foot well.

  • Patent number: 5286923
Abstract: One embodiment comprises:two bare parallel conductors made of bronze;two insulating rods that are substantially helically wound with non-touching turns around the conductors respectively so that the rods interfit and maintain a predetermined distance between the two conductors; andan insulating protective sheath. The helical pitch of the rods is much greater than the cross-section of the rods so the volume between the two conductors is mostly full of air, thereby obtaining reduced permittivity and thus increased propagation velocity. The invention is applicable to data transmission cables for computer machines.
