Abstract: A clot capture device assists a surgeon or medical technician to directly see a degree of blood displacement and what type of clot is being or has been extracted, and preferably, all on the sterile field at convenient reach and visual observation by the user (physician or technician), and without cessation of a clot removal procedure. Aspirated blood and a retrieved clot or clots are ejected and deposited on a generally horizontally oriented porous filter and/or foraminous strainer in a co-compartment, for separation thereof. The clot or clots stay in the co-compartment atop the strainer/filter, while extracted blood drains into a blood collection compartment below.

Abstract: A head stabilization system including a head restraint mechanism and a head harness configured to engage a head of a patient. The head restraint mechanism is configured to be operatively disposed on a patient support device and includes a generally vertically upstanding arcuate tilt guide. The head harness is releasably attachable to and at least partially supported by the head restraint mechanism. The head harness is selectively repositionable generally vertically relative to the tilt guide. The head restraint mechanism is configured to stabilize the head harness relative to the patient support device. The head restraint mechanism is configured to selectively allow lateral flexion of a neck of the patient, lateral rotation of the head of the patient, and extension and flexion of the neck of the patient.

Abstract: A system and method for detecting the presence of a medicament reservoir within the housing of an infusion pump. A medicament reservoir, affixed to a reservoir cap is removably inserted within the housing of an infusion pump. A magnet is affixed to or embedded in one or both of the reservoir or the reservoir cap. Alternately, the cap or the reservoir can be made of magnetic material. A sensing device embedded or otherwise affixed to the pump housing senses the presence or absence of the magnetic field created by the magnet. The presence of the magnetic field indicates that the reservoir is inserted properly within the housing and the absence of the magnetic field indicates that the reservoir has been at least partially withdrawn from the pump's housing.

Abstract: A device to prevent the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle through restriction or blocking of movement of the gear shift lever, mounted on the steering column, into an operative forward or reverse gear unless the ignition lock is physically moved from an ignition off position to an ignition on position. The device engages and therefore interacts with both the ignition lock and the gear shift lever to assume the blocking position relative to movement of the gear shift lever until the aforementioned lock is physically turned to the ignition on position.
