  • Patent number: 5269641
Abstract: An interface system for cargo loaders which is especially suited for use with aircraft cargo loaders. The interface is secured to a deck structure forming part of the cargo loader. The interface system includes a primary interface member which can be extended or retracted with respect to the end of the deck. In addition to extension and retraction, the primary interface member can be angularly adjusted with respect to the end of the deck. In one embodiment a secondary interface member is stowed adjacent to the primary interface or nested within a recess formed in the primary interface. The secondary interface can be extended or retracted with respect to the primary interface member. The secondary interface can also be designed for angular adjustment. The primary interface also includes lateral extension members which can be varied in position to either decrease or increase the transverse length of the primary interface member.

  • Patent number: 4304518
Abstract: An aircraft loader having bridge and main elevators is provided with pivotally mounted trays at the rearward end of the bridge elevator. The trays serve as transit means for the passage of load units between the two elevators both when the two elevators are level and when they are out of level to a degree. The trays function also as part of a level control system whereby the levels of the main elevator and trays tend to be adjusted to match the level of the bridge elevator.

  • Patent number: 3990557
Abstract: An improved front stop assembly is provided for index racks which are used to stow aircraft freight pallets. The stop member of the front stop assembly is raised or lowered, respectively, by the movement of a pallet transporter out of docking relation with the rack and by the movement of the transporter into docking relation therewith.

  • Patent number: 3944096
Abstract: The freight transporter and loader of the disclosure is a vehicle having a power-driven, steerable wheeled chassis and having an elevator support bed. The bed is provided with multiple conveyors arranged to handle either three rows of LD-3 type cargo containers or two rows of LD-7 type containers. The bed is provided with a number of parallel conveyors extending along the length of the bed, conveyor elements to selectively drive the cargo containers transversely of the bed from one longitudinal conveyor to another, and is also provided with means enabling cargo containers to be reoriented through 180.degree. turns. The support bed is provided with an interface or extension unit to enable an aircraft to be loaded or unloaded. The interface unit is selectively shiftable transversely of the forward end of the support bed so as to be used in conjunction with a selected one of the number of longitudinal conveyors on the support bed.
