  • Patent number: 4513936
Abstract: An adjustable support, e.g. for campfire cooking comprises a first member or rod (1) having an angled slot (2) at the upper end and a spiked opposite end for vertical mounting in the earth near a campfire (12); a second removable extension handle member (7) has a tapered slot (5) for insertion into the first member slot (2) and a protruding extension arm and hook (8) on which to hang swing-handled cooking containers, with a wooden handle (6) therebetween such that the said containers can be lowered or raised by adjusting slot (5) in slot (2) or turned to or from the fire by swiveling peg (1) in the ground, or lifted free of slot (2) for remotely carrying hot foodstuffs. Furthermore, said peg (1) has feet such that it can alternatively be leaned against and supported by rocks, enabling said slot (5) to be inserted and adjusted to raise or lower swing-handled containers relative to campfire (12); said second member is removable for the safety and convenience of campfire cooking.

  • Patent number: 4475727
Abstract: A packagable workbench comprises work surfaces (1) and (1a) separated by slot (2). A sliding member (22) can be moved lengthwise and locked or unlocked on the work surface (1a) to form a positional stop opposite a pivotable force-applying tool (52). Said sliding member (22) also has exchangable fittings for tightly securing and clamping workpieces when force is applied by the force tool (52). The work surface is supported by legs (3) to which fixtures (7) can be attached for supporting a tool deck (8) and bi-sliding drawers (18) for tools and one end of stay rods (10). The legs (3) also provide vertical posts for mounting adjustable sawhorse supports (64) and plank (61). Further the work surface (1) supports a screw press (68) by tension rods (76) attached thereto for pressure applications in combination or separate. The work surface (1) also provides a fixed stop (19) removably attached to work surface (1) for along-the-bench clamping of workpieces by pressure applied from the force tool (52) when pivoted.

  • Patent number: 4449704
Abstract: An engineers' or carpenters' vise comprises a tubular outer member (12) having a plurality of apertures (13) aligned along one side of the member. A jaw is fixed to one end of the member. A second tubular inner member (18) is telescoped within the first member and has a plurality of apertures 19 which cooperate with the apertures (13) in the outer member. A movable vise jaw 20 is attached to the end of the inner member. A tapered lever 24 is provided for insertion into apertures which are not in line, so as to forcibly pry or move the inner member (18) in either one of two alternative directions. A tapered locking pin 22 is provided to securely lock the inner member (18) to the outer member (12), so as to prevent any return movement. The pin is inserted into apertures which are not in line. The inner member (18) can be removed from the outer member (12) and re-inserted into the opposite end of the outer member, so as to arrange the vise to have an even greater jaw opening.
