  • Patent number: 7290970
Abstract: A multi-channel flat valve assembly comprises multiple fluid channels which are effectively defined within the multi-channel flat valve assembly by means of laterally or transversely spaced heat-sealed regions. Accordingly, when the dunnage or cargo air bag is inflated, whereby the forces acting upon the oppositely disposed plastic sheets defining or comprising the flat valve assembly would tend to cause separation of the oppositely disposed plastic sheets with respect to each other and cause the flat valve assembly to attain an OPENED state, the disposition or presence of the heat sealed regions defining the multiple fluid channels effectively intercepts the propagation of such forces whereby the flat valve assembly tends to remain in its CLOSED state so as to effectively preserve the INFLATED state of the dunnage or cargo air bag, or considered alternatively, the dunnage or cargo air bag does not undesirably or inadvertently achieve a DEFLATED state.

  • Patent number: 6068125
Abstract: An apparatus and method for packaging planar container carriers. A package of fan folded container carriers having a carton with vertical walls and a moveable platform positioned with respect to a bottom of the carton. Stacks of fan folded planar container carriers are then positioned in the cartons using a method for packaging wherein each stack of fan folded planar container carriers are secured with dividers positioned within the cartons. At least one carton is positioned on a base of the package to accommodate at least one additional stack of container carriers. The method is performed so that the package accommodates successive stacks of container carriers to form a generally continuous strip of container carriers.

  • Patent number: 5697489
Abstract: A machine for labeling or delabeling vessels is disclosed. The machine has a turret with a series of work stations and input and output transfer stations for supplying and removing vessels to and from the turret. Input and output star wheel assemblies are respectively positioned at the input and out stations. A supply conveyor is provided for transporting vessels to the input star wheel assembly. The supply conveyor includes a variable pitch feed screw opposite a pair of spring biased input guide rails. The input guide rails each have guide and a jam relief positions. An exit conveyor delineates an exit path of vessel travel downstream from the output star wheel assembly including an exit guide rail having an input end pivotally mounted at a location near the output star wheel assembly. The exit guide rail has a normal position adjacent the exit path and a jam relief position.
