  • Patent number: 4374353
Abstract: A multiple speed control means for a variable speed motor system used for driving a hoist including multiple fixed speeds and a low speed range which is incrementally variable throughout the range. The control means provides distinct voltage levels which correspond to fixed motor speeds, the highest voltage corresponding to the maximum or full speed of the motor. Manual switch means switch into these fixed speeds or into the variable low speed range when the system is either in the hoist or lowering mode for respectively lifting or lowering a load in place.A quick response circuit is connected into the system for a predetermined time duration after the system is switched into any of the speed positions except the maximum speed position.

  • Patent number: 4207508
Abstract: A variable speed motor control system for controlling the vertical speed of a hoist. An electro-mechanical brake means locks the hoist load in place when the system is off or when the motor speed is set at a zero speed setting. A quick response circuit is connected into the system for a predetermined time duration after the system is switched from a zero speed to any speed setting (high or low speed), to enable the motor to quickly gain control over the load and prevent the load from slipping as the motor accelerates to the set speed after the brake is released. An initial delay timer is turned on when electrical power is first connected into the system, to prevent transfer of electrical power to the motor and to prevent release of the brake, for a predetermined period of time. A hoist (up-down) electro-mechanical contactor connects electrical power from a source to a thyristor static switch.

  • Patent number: 4152864
Abstract: A craft kit and method for forming "thin film" shapes or forms. The kit includes various parts for forming a multitude of different solid configurations, which are dipped into film producing solution for deriving "thin film" planar shapes determined by the solid configuration. A bubble forming tool, which may include a bubble generator and a bubble sucker, is used to provide three dimensional thin film configurations determined by the solid configuration and the thin film shapes. For example, a cube configuration will enable substantially cube shaped bubbles to be formed in the thin film planar shapes.

  • Patent number: 4149337
Abstract: A bubble forming device for forming bubbles and thin film planes spanning the sides of a frame with bubble forming solution. The device includes an air inlet for forcing air into the device, for ejecting air into the thin films or extracting air out from the thin films. The bubble shape is dependent upon the shape of the frame (which may be formed from rods, wire etc.), between which the thin films span.
