  • Publication number: 20140276677
Abstract: Embodiments of this invention relate to systems and methods for providing anatomical flap centration for an ophthalmic laser treatment system. In one embodiment, the laser surgery system, having an imaging system and a suction ring coupled with a patient interface, captures a digital image of a subject's eye and identifies an optimum treatment placement of the corneal flap using anatomical markers as reference points.

  • Publication number: 20040179790
Abstract: A photonic test package that includes one or more detachable weld plates that allow components to be removed from the package. The weld plates may support relatively inexpensive optical components such as lenses, collimators and optical isolators. A photonic device such as a laser diode or photodetector is permanently attached to the package base plate. The weld plates are attached to the package base plate by fasteners that allow the plates to be removed from the package. The optical components are aligned with the photonic device welded/soldered to the weld plates. Test data may be taken regarding any weld/solder component shift. The weld plates and accompanying optical components can be removed and replace with a new set of plates/components so that the weld/solder process can be repeated with the same package without discarding the relatively expensive photonic device.

  • Publication number: 20040066514
Abstract: An upper tooling assembly that includes a gripper pivotally coupled to an arm. The upper tooling assembly can be located above a lower tooling assembly that holds a first optical device. The gripper holds a second optical device that is to be aligned with the first device. The arm is coupled to a translation table that moves the second optical device into contact with the first optical device. The pivotal coupling of the gripper to the arm allows the second device to rotate and become aligned with the first device in a parallel manner. The upper tooling assembly may further include a brake that locks the position of the gripper and second optical device after alignment with the first device.
