  • Patent number: 6758774
Abstract: Arrowheads, including blade-opening arrowheads as well as other non blade-opening arrowheads having a recessed collar or body that is slidably positionable about a stem portion thereof. The recess bounds and defines an internally contained void of the arrowheads. The collar is defined by having an internal centrally disposed bore extending therethrough so as to enable the collar or washer to be slidably positioned about an extending post or stem member of a corresponding arrowhead body. The collar and created internal void at least in part aid in attaching blades to the respective arrowhead bodies and serve to house various different annular elements that circumscribe the post member or equivalent.

  • Patent number: 6755758
Abstract: Blade-opening arrowheads having pivotal blades, wherein each blade is hingedly connected at one blade end to an arrowhead body by a hinge pin. Each blade freely rotates in a plane from a retracted in-flight position to an open position when penetrating an object where the other opposing blade end rotates away from the arrowhead body such that the sharp cutting edges of the blades are exposed at a full cutting diameter when the blades are in the open position. When in the retracted position a blade is securely held selectively adjacent to the arrowhead body by frictional engagement from methods independent of, or not dependent upon, the use of an element or elements in addition to that individual cutting blade, its hinge pin and its blade slot.

  • Patent number: 6743128
Abstract: Arrowhead cutting blades having a sharper cutting edge, wherein the angle between opposing grind bevels on either side of a corresponding cutting edge is narrower than that which an arrowhead cutting blade of the same thickness would of normally had. Such an arrowhead blade cutting edge is ground on a necked down thinner edge portion of the precursor blade article (blade form or blade shape) during a strip grinding process (but not limited thereto), wherein the blade has a pair of opposing side faces, an inside corner and a step disposed between each side face and the cutting edge, so as to define the narrower cutting edge angle thereof.

  • Patent number: 6622417
Abstract: Decoys, such as full-body and shell goose decoys, are produced from same shaped decoy bodies and/or different shaped decoy bodies, having a plurality of different shaped foot-and-leg assemblies removably attachable therewith, wherein the pair of legs and feet of each different shaped foot-and-leg assembly have a different spatial arrangement of legs and feet than the pairs of legs and feet of each of the other different shaped foot-and-leg assemblies. When each of the different shaped foot-and-leg assemblies is individually attached to a decoy body, the decoy body is positioned in a different position relative to a surface, when placed upon the surface, than the position the decoy body is positioned in relative to the surface when having the other different shaped foot-and-leg assemblies individually attached thereto and correspondingly placed upon the surface.

  • Patent number: 6428434
Abstract: An arrowhead having a pivotal blade rotatably mounted to a corresponding arrowhead body such that the pivotal blade is selectively positionable at different cutting diameters when in corresponding different penetrating configurations so as to enable the arrowhead to have differing penetration and tissue volume cutting capacities. The hinge structure rotatably mounting the pivotal blade to its arrowhead body is positionable at a plurality of different spatial locations relative to the arrowhead body. The blade stop surface, such as a sloped blade abutting surface of a blade stop washer, that the pivotal blade abuts against when penetrating an object or when rotated to an open position is positionable at a plurality of different spatial locations and/or orientations relative to the arrowhead body.

  • Patent number: 6428433
Abstract: Removably attachable arrowhead tips that are selectively alignable in specific orientation with structures of their corresponding arrowhead bodies. Such arrowhead tips allow consistent and repetitive alignment of cutting edges of arrowhead tip facet junctures with the cutting edges of tip blades and/or the cutting edges of their corresponding arrowhead blades at all times, such as when replacing a damaged tip.

  • Patent number: 6336286
Abstract: Different shaped decoys each having a same shaped decoy body and a pair of legs, wherein the pair of legs of each decoy differs in shape from the pair of legs of each other decoy by having a different spatial arrangement of legs, such that the legs of each decoy are in different positions than the legs of each of the other decoys.

  • Patent number: 6306053
Abstract: Arrowheads each having a cutting tip defined with a tip body having at least one slot for engageable mounting of a cutting tip blade therein. The tip blades provide a razor sharp cutting edge situated near a forward leading end of the corresponding arrowheads. The tip blade are secured to corresponding tips by holding elements. Some such cutting tips have facets formed thereon. Some such arrowheads are blade-opening arrowheads, whereas other such arrowheads have substantially removably attachable fixed blades disposed therewith, in elongately configured slots upon corresponding arrowhead bodies. The razor sharp cutting edges of the tip blades in conjunction with the corresponding tip bodies and/or facets provide cutting tips of structural integrity so as to sufficiently crush/split heavy bone and push penetrated material easily from its cutting path, while concomitantly slicing soft tissue with the ease of a razors edge.

  • Patent number: 6287223
Abstract: Blade-opening arrowheads with removably attachable pivotal blades, each having an edge with at least a section thereof that is sharpened for cutting. The sharp cutting edges are prevented from being dulled from contact with their corresponding arrowhead bodies, arrowhead tips or other structure when the blades are folded into a retracted in-flight position or into a closed position.

  • Patent number: 6287224
Abstract: A blade-opening arrowhead with a plurality of removable blades, each pivotally connected at one opposing blade end to an arrowhead body by a hinge pin. An urging force produced from a bias element engages the edge of each blade to a holding element to securely hold the blades selectively adjacent to the arrowhead body when in a retracted position. When the arrowhead penetrates an object the blade edges are disengaged from the holding elements, and the blades freely rotate to an open position with the other opposing blade end of each blade rotating away from the arrowhead body. The urging force continually urges the cutting edges of the blades in a forward direction when the blades are in the open position, further slicing uncut or unpenetrated tissue.

  • Patent number: 6258000
Abstract: Aerodynamically favorable arrowheads such as pivotal blade arrowheads and/or blade-opening arrowheads that have a sharp cutting edge located upon their arrowhead bodies at a location forward of a corresponding main cutting blade cutting edge when in a penetrating configuration such that the arrowheads maintain favorable aerodynamic flight characteristics and cut target material in front of the main cutting blades when penetrating a target so as to eliminate the frictional drag that the otherwise dull arrowhead bodies would generate with the target before the main cutting blades began cutting target material thereinfront.
