  • Publication number: 20240074641
Abstract: A multi-focal, multi-camera endoscope having a tip section including a first optical assembly for generating a first image of a body cavity; a second optical assembly for generating a second image of a body cavity; at least one illuminator associated with each of the first optical assembly and second optical assembly; and a processing system configured to: zoom the first optical assembly and thereby generate a zoomed first image in place of the first image; and automatically cause a physical display to eliminate a display of the second image and to only display said zoomed first image. To eliminate the display of the second image, the processing system reduces a power supply to the second optical assembly, reduces an illumination intensity of an illuminator associated with the second optical assembly or causes the physical display to power off, darken, or blacken.

  • Publication number: 20230338317
Abstract: Eflornithine is an agent that can be used to treat glioma, especially glioma of WHO Grade II or Grade III such as anaplastic glioma. Eflornithine can suppress or prevent mutations in glioma which can cause the glioma to progress to a higher grade. The present invention describes pharmaceutical compositions that contain eflornithine or a derivative, analog, or prodrug thereof. The pharmaceutical compositions can be prepared in a number of dosage forms and may contain another therapeutically active agent or an agent that enhances the therapeutic activity of the eflornithine or the derivative, analog, or prodrug thereof. The present invention also describes a kit that includes dosage forms of pharmaceutical compositions according to the present invention.

  • Patent number: 11532244
Abstract: Ultrasound (US) simulation systems and methods are provided, which utilize computer tomography (CT) data to generate US simulation images, offline or online. Systems and methods repeatedly derive and display consecutive US simulation images that correspond to consecutively-derived corresponding US slices (according to the changing locations and orientations of a dummy US transducer mimicking the US transducer with respect to a physical patient model)—that define geometrically US simulation regions. The US simulation images are at least partly derived from CT data using a CT to US conversion model. Acoustic parameters (e.g., tissue density, acoustic attenuation and impedance) are calculated and integrated per pixel, along beams in the US slice, to form the US image. Additional modelling may be used to calculate reflection and scattering and their effects on the image pixels, and enhancements such as animation and flow data may be added.

  • Publication number: 20220087502
Abstract: The subject matter disclosed in the present invention discloses a medical imaging device comprising at least two cameras. The medical imaging device comprises an elongated and narrow distal tip connected to a rigid elongated shaft member, wherein the distal tip can comprise a front camera and a first side camera. The cameras of the disclosed medical imaging device can be configured to provide variable cameras' magnifications, which in some cases may vary from one camera to another. The distal tip can comprise some optical gear required for the medical procedures. The optical gear located in the distal tip can comprise cameras, lenses and light sources required for the camera functioning. The cameras of the medical imaging device may be provided with dissimilarity in the cameras' magnification factors. Such dissimilarities are used to show the same object in the same size in a panoramic image captured simultaneously by multiple cameras, as the multiple cameras have multiple distances to the object.
