  • Patent number: 5522620
Abstract: A skateboard truck (10) for a skateboard (100) having a pivotal member (12) which is arranged to be connected to the deck (102) of the skateboard. The pivotal member (12) carries the wheel assembly (13) of the truck (10). A locking mechanism (14) is also provided. In a first (unlocked) mode of operation, the pivotal member (12) is a able to pivot so that the truck (10) is movable in a to and fro manner. This first mode of operation permits a rider to perform advanced maneuvers using a skateboard (100). In a second (locked) mode of operation, the truck (10) is locked against such to and fro movement by the locking mechanism (14).

  • Patent number: 5509893
Abstract: A speculum having a dilator for insertion into a body cavity of a patient and an opening mechanism for opening the dilator to dilate the body cavity. The dilator has at least two dilator blade members which are pivotal. The opening mechanism consists of a collar which is rotatable to contact and bear against the blade members. This causes the blade members to pivot and move apart, thereby opening the dilator. This results in the body cavity of the patient being dilated which allows for easy examination thereof.

  • Patent number: 5415579
Abstract: A doll constructed with a body having a head with at least one eye comprising a pivotal eye ball assembly pivotally retained in a casing. A first arm extends from a main portion of the eye ball assembly and a solenoid with a movable solenoid bolt and a second arm and mechanical assembly movable by the solenoid bolt pivots the eye ball between first and second positions simulating a closed and open eye. The solenoid bolt is moveable between a first position and a second position, so that when the doll is in a substantially horizontal position the solenoid bolt moves from a first position to a second position moving the second arm to cause the eye ball to pivot from the first position to the second position. This is accomplished when a receiver in the doll no longer receives a signal transmitted from a transmitter carried by the child. The doll appears to awaken when the child leaves the room.
