  • Publication number: 20230404286
Abstract: Processes for personalizing a mattress or pillow for a consumer generally includes analyzing data identifying one or more target areas based on surface temperature and/or pressure on a consumer's existing mattress and additively manufacturing a lattice structure to address the one or more target areas so to provide support, pressure point relief, and/or a desired temperature modulation.

  • Patent number: 11806978
Abstract: A side rail assembly and a mattress assembly including the side rail assembly about at least a portion of a perimeter of the mattress assembly. The side rail assembly includes a laminate structure including one or more foam layers and one or more fiber layers in a stacked arrangement. The fiber layer can be a non-woven layer.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 7, 2023
    Assignee: DREAMWELL, LTD.
Inventors: Joseph Teska, Kent Mahlke, Richard F. Gladney, Victor Ray Prince, Robert Hellyer, Jeremy Brodioi
  • Publication number: 20230180944
Abstract: Active comfort controlled bedding systems and processes of operating the bedding systems generally include a variable firmness control. The active comfort controlled bedding system can include a control unit in electrical communication with a signal generating layer configured to generate heat and alter a firmness property of at least one viscoelastic foam layer, wherein the amount of heat is based on a decrease of the glass transition temperature as a function of the percentage of humidity in the environment. In other embodiments, the bedding system is provided with at least one foam layer comprising a phase change material stratified in a foam structure of the at least one foam layer; and the at least one foam layer is heated to a temperature greater than a melt temperature of the paraffin wax to soften the at least one foam layer. In other embodiments, ambient humidity conditions can be changed.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20220395109
Abstract: Bedding components and processes for forming the bedding components includes an additive manufacturing process to produce a variable elastomeric lattice structure. The variable elastomeric lattice structure includes variations in strut diameter, cell diameter, strut shape, and combinations thereof. The bedding components include mattresses, pillows, coils, mattress toppers or the like and can also be in the form of inserts to provide different feels in different regions.
