Abstract: A gel electrophoresis system includes a base module and a camera module. The base module includes a cassette slot for receiving a gel electrophoresis cassette, and a light element that functions to illuminate the gel electrophoresis cassette. The camera module is selectively attachable to and detachable from the base module. When attached to the base module, the camera module facilitates imaging of the gel electrophoresis cassette and provides additional imaging capabilities.

Abstract: A laboratory shaker is provided having a shaker platform and a shaker mechanism operatively connected to the shaker platform. The shaker mechanism is configured to oscillate the shaker platform and at least one liquid-containing vessel supported on the platform. A spill tray is located beneath the shaker platform that has at least one aperture extending through the spill tray. The at least one aperture is configured to permit the operative connection of the shaker mechanism to the shaker platform through the aperture, wherein the spill tray is configured to contain spilled liquid from the at least one liquid-containing vessel.

A multi-item packaged food product may include food items, a bottom portion defining containers, and a top portion releasably sealed to the bottom portion such that food items are received in the containers. The top portion defines removeably coupled cover portions, each cover portion sealing at least one food item within a corresponding one of the containers. The top portion is peelable in a first direction to remove at least two cover portions from the corresponding containers, and the top portion is peelable in a second direction to remove a single cover portion from a single container.

Abstract: A mute device for a cymbal of the kind mounted on a cymbal post. The device include a strike plate assembly having a mount for engaging an upper part of a cymbal post, and at least one foot projecting from the strike plate assembly to rest on the cymbal. A cymbal mute assembly projects from the strike plate assembly to receive part of an outer circumference of the cymbal. The mute assembly includes a muting part of sound dampening material arranged to contact the cymbal in a rest position, and a strike piece arranged to strike the cymbal in response to a percussion force on the strike plate assembly.

Abstract: A mute device for use with music drums including tom-toms, snares, and the like. The device includes a drum stick strike plate, and at least one sound post projecting from the strike plate. The sound post contacts the drum skin at a location where the skin is supported on the drum shell housing, when the strike plate is mounted on the drum.
