Patent number: 11903577Abstract: Devices for easily and quickly tying complex suture knots are disclosed. The knot tying accessories described herein provide a means for introducing a complex knot pattern into a bight of suture using a device body and a guide thread. The device body includes system for maintaining the guide thread and suture in a convoluted pathway, either with the use of channels, protrusions, or a combination of both within its interior, on its exterior, or both. The guide thread may include a coupler at one end for holding a suture end while the guide thread leads the suture through the convoluted path defined within the guide body. Pull tabs may also be included to aid with exchanging the guide thread for the suture ends.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2019Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: Ceterix OrthopaedicsInventors: Stephen J. Publication number: 20220061833Abstract: Suture cutting devices to be used arthroscopically, for example, in an arthroscopic knee surgery may be operated with a control for rotating a cutter to cut a suture, for example, once a knot is placed in the suture. The rotatable cutter may also be configured to axially translate during a suture cutting procedure. The rotation and axial translation of the cutter may be separately or simultaneously executed. The suture cutting devices may be configured to push the knot within the suture and secure the suture for cutting near the knot. The suture cutting devices may include a holding tube and mandrel for securing the suture, for example, prior to cutting.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 9, 2020Publication date: March 3, 2022Inventors: Stephen J.
