  • Publication number: 20170334423
Abstract: A hybrid battery system of an automotive vehicle provides power to various features without running an internal combustion engine.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 31, 2017
    Publication date: November 23, 2017
Inventors: Kimberley King, Bijal Patel, Viet Quoc To, Philip Michael Gonzales, Josephine S. Lee
  • Patent number: 9633561
Abstract: One exemplary illustration of a vehicle roadside assistance system may include a sensor at least one of generating and acquiring a detection signal in response to an emergency condition. The system may also have a controller generating an actuation signal based on the detection signal. In addition, the system may also have a computer storage medium storing a plurality of media files indicative of a recommended response to the emergency condition. Moreover, the system may have one or more on-vehicle hazard light devices coupled to the controller and emitting light in response to the actuation signal.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 12, 2013
Date of Patent: April 25, 2017
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Joseph F. Stanek, Lisa Scott, Ramy Boctor, Viet Quoc To
  • Patent number: 9056550
Abstract: A system includes a GPS receiver that generates a signal that is representative of a posted speed limit at a location where a vehicle is located and a device that generates a signal that is representative of an actual speed of the vehicle. A controller is responsive to the GPS receiver signal and the actual speed sensor signal for either (1) generating an alarm or (2) limiting or otherwise controlling the speed of the vehicle when the actual speed of the vehicle is greater than the posted speed limit.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 26, 2011
Date of Patent: June 16, 2015
    Assignee: FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, LLC
Inventors: Viet Quoc To, Payam Naghshtabrizi, Sam Hashemi, Zhang Yan, John R. Blankenship

  • Publication number: 20140016797
Abstract: A method and system for changing a digital signal processing (DSP) mode of an audio system in a motor vehicle having a roof movable between open and closed positions. The open/closed position of the roof is determined and the audio system is operated in a first DSP mode when the roof is in the closed position and operated in a second DSP mode when the roof in the open position. The first and second DSP modes have different processing characteristics adapted for the acoustics of the passenger cabin when the roof is closed or open. The open/closed roof position may be determined by a roof position sensor or by the actuation of a roof position switch operated by a vehicle occupant.

  • Publication number: 20130152894
Abstract: Methods and systems for operating a glow plug are disclosed. In one example, glow plugs of a compression ignition engine are selectively operated during automatic engine starting. The methods and systems may be useful to reduced glow plug degradation and improve emissions of an automatically started engine.
