  • Publication number: 20200295970
Abstract: The method includes obtaining a first set of support and confidence parameters, identifying a first set of VNFs of a plurality of VNFs of the communication network based on the first set of support and confidence parameters, and determining association information by mining rules within VNFs of the first set of VNFs using the support and confidence parameters. A second set of VNFs, of the plurality of VNFs, are then selected based on the association information, and an operation of the communication network is controlled using the first set of VNFs and the second set of VNFs.

  • Patent number: 9106628
Abstract: A system for providing cost effective, secure key exchange from at least one first device to at least one second device through at least one proxy server is provided. The system includes a first key exchange message from the at least one first device to the at least one second device via the at least one proxy server. A second key exchange message from the at least one second device to the at least one first device via a media stream of the Internet is required to complete the computation of the session key. A method of securing a communication system is also set forth. The method includes the steps of providing a routing device for identifying a subscriber, and providing a master key exchange session, the master key exchange session including a key k to find a subscriber and a nonce r to answer a query to the subscriber, wherein the master key exchange session includes both the key k and the nonce r.

  • Publication number: 20150156170
Abstract: Embodiments include components of a computer defense network (CND) architecture, e.g. a content addressable network (CAN) gateway, a CAN peer or a CND controller. The gateway is configured to receive from a host a security event log that includes a protocol tag, and to securely forward the log to a selected one of a plurality of CAN peers based on the protocol tag. The CAN peer is configured to configured to filter the events based on an assigned communication protocol, and to produce a security report from the filtered events. The CND controller is configured to receive the filtered report from the peer and to defend the network against a threat based on the report.

  • Publication number: 20050213609
Abstract: Presence state information is made available to an Internet user about a public switched telephone network (PSTN) subscriber utilizing a first terminal that does not have direct Internet communications capability. First messages from the PSTN switch providing communication services to the PSTN subscriber are received. The first messages contain call event information. The presence state of the PSTN subscriber is determined based on the call event information. A second message is transmitted using Internet protocol to the Internet terminal of the Internet user, the second message containing the presence state information about the PSTN subscriber.

  • Publication number: 20050190744
Abstract: A method is provided for communication between a telephone caller and a callee of the telephone call in the event of an attempted public switched telephone network (PSTN) call within the PSTN. The attempted call may result from deliberate failure of the callee to answer the telephone or may result from a failure of the PSTN to route the call to the callee. The method includes the linking of a public switched telephone network with an Internet domain network via a PSTN/Internet domain network interface; and upon detection of the attempted PSTN call, having the PSTN inform the Internet domain network interface to provide an message in real time to the intended recipient of the PSTN call via an Internet protocol message.

  • Publication number: 20050037762
Abstract: Systems and techniques for routing and transmission of short message service messages are described. A user profile associated with a wireless telephone includes conditions relating to a user's need or desire to receive a text message through a device other than the wireless telephone and the user's preferences in the event of each of the conditions. The conditions include whether a user's instant messaging client is active. If the client is active, the user profile include the address of the client. When a text message arrives for the user at a wireless telephone switching center, the switching center determines if the message is to be sent to the user through the wireless telephone network, through the internet messaging client or both. Depending on the desired routing of the message, the message is transmitted through the wireless network or formatted and sent as an instant messaging message, or both.
