  • Publication number: 20230349263
Abstract: A valve for use in a wellbore for facilitating a multi-stage stimulation method includes a first sleeve configured to move to open the valve. In addition, the valve includes a second sleeve configured to move to close the valve. The first sleeve and the second sleeve are both movable in a first direction. Movement of the first sleeve a first distance in the first direction opens the valve and subsequent movement of the second sleeve a second distance in the first direction closes the valve. Further, the valve includes a third profile configured to engage a third key of a tool for operating the valve. The third profile is shaped to prevent movement of the tool in a second direction opposite to the first direction when engaged with the third key of the tool.

  • Publication number: 20220381099
Abstract: Liner hanger running tool (LHRT) having a mandrel with a central through-bore includes a transducer configured to identify a predetermined activation signal and, based on receipt of the predetermined activation signal, transmit an actuation signal. The LHRT also includes a power source. In addition, the LHRT includes a valve. Further, the LHRT includes an actuator configured to be operated by the power source and activated by the actuation signal from the transducer to close the valve in the central through-bore in the mandrel.

  • Patent number: 10392910
Abstract: Sliding sleeve assemblies including a completion body with an inner flow passageway and one or more ports enabling fluid communication between the inner flow passageway and an exterior of the completion body. A sliding sleeve is arranged within the completion body and has a sleeve mating profile defined on an inner surface, the sliding sleeve being movable between a closed position, where the one or more ports are occluded, and an open position, where the one or more ports are exposed. A plurality of wellbore darts are used and each has a body and a common dart profile that is matable with the sleeve mating profile. One or more sensors are positioned on the completion body to detect the plurality of wellbore darts traversing the inner flow passageway. An actuation sleeve is arranged within the completion body and movable to expose the sleeve mating profile.

  • Patent number: 10161214
Abstract: A system and method for selective isolation of multiple wellbore intervals that can include an isolation mandrel interconnected in a tubing string, where the isolation mandrel includes an entry bore, a transition chamber, and an exit bore, the transition chamber being positioned between the entry and exit bores, and the transition chamber being radially enlarged relative to the entry and exit bores. An isolation device, with a predetermined length, is displaced through the tubing string to the isolation mandrel, where the length of the isolation device relative to a length of the isolation mandrel can determine if the isolation device passes through the isolation mandrel or lands in the isolation mandrel.

  • Patent number: 9835004
Abstract: Disclosed is a sliding sleeve assembly that includes a sliding sleeve sub coupled to a work string extended within a wellbore, the sliding sleeve sub having one or more ports defined therein that enable fluid communication between an interior and an exterior of the work string, a sliding sleeve arranged within the sliding sleeve sub and movable between a closed position, where the sliding sleeve occludes the one or more ports, and an open position, where the sliding sleeve has moved to expose the one or more ports, a sleeve profile defined on an inner surface of the sliding sleeve, a wellbore dart having a body and a plurality of collet fingers extending longitudinally from the body, and a dart profile defined on an outer surface of the plurality of collet fingers, the dart profile being configured to selectively mate with the sleeve profile.

  • Patent number: 9388666
Abstract: A well tool can include a chamber having a volume that changes when a member displaces, and a valve device that selectively opens and permits displacement of the member, and that selectively closes and prevents displacement of the member. A method of operating a well tool can include displacing a member, thereby changing a chamber volume, and then closing a valve device, thereby preventing displacement of the member. A well system can include a well tool connected in a tubular string, a flow passage of the tubular string extending longitudinally through the well tool, the well tool including a chamber having a volume that changes when a member displaces, and a shifting tool, a valve device opening and member displacement being permitted when the shifting tool engages the well tool, and the valve device closing and member displacement being prevented when the shifting tool disengages from the well tool.

  • Patent number: 9353600
Abstract: A well tool has a housing and an actuator sleeve in the housing. An actuator in the housing includes a spring and an internal shifting tool engaging profile. The actuator is responsive, independent of well annulus pressure, to a remote hydraulic signal in a central bore of the well tool to change from an unactuated state to an actuated state to shift the actuator sleeve from a first position to a second position. The actuator is responsive to reset to the unactuated state using the internal shifting tool engaging profile.
