  • Publication number: 20080091319
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrical system or circuit for a by-wire control system. The control system includes a hydraulic pump, a reservoir, a bi-directional function actuator, and solenoid operated valves for controlling the actuator in response to control signals from the electronic system. The electronic system includes first and second pairs of command device position sensors, a first channel and a second channel. Each channel includes main processing unit and a supervisory control unit. Each main processing unit is connected to a pair of the command device position sensors, and a pair of the solenoid operated valves.

  • Patent number: 6655017
Abstract: An electronic controller unit is formed of first and second base plates parallel to one another and spaced apart having a flexible substrate circuit board thereon with an intermediate portion of the circuit board extending between the two base plates. A connector is joined to the intermediate portion of the circuit board between the two base plates and is sealed to an edge of each base plate to form one side of the unit housing. A three-sided frame is joined to the other three sides of the two base plates to completely enclose the circuit board. The two major sides of the unit are formed by separate base plate pieces that are severed from an integral frame after the flexible circuit is bonded thereto. This allows the unit to be manufactured without bending of a rigid plate having the flexible circuit mounted thereto.

  • Patent number: 5748431
Abstract: An electrical circuit applies an oscillatory electrical current to a coil of a solenoid in order to cause the solenoid to move in response to a command signal. The circuit includes a signal divider for generating an upper peak current signal value from the command signal and a lower peak current signal value which is a fixed percentage of the upper peak current signal value. A current sense resistor generates a current sense voltage representing current through the coil. A first comparator compares the current sense voltage to the upper current signal value. A second comparator compares the current sense voltage to the lower current signal value. A set/reset flip-flop latches a current driver on and off. A current driver applies a driving current to the solenoid coil as a function of output signals generated by the first and second comparators so that the coil current will have a lower peak current value which is substantially a fixed percentage of the upper peak current value.
