Publication number: 20180030956Abstract: A vertical axis fluid turbine for mechanical and electrical power generation is disclosed. The turbine is comprised of at least three camber-less symmetrical foils rotating about a main axis. Each foil is capable of independent rotation about its own respective axis. A closed loop feedback control system orients the foils to consistently maintain a forward edge into the flow of the fluid. Each foil generates lift in the forward and rearward arcs of rotation, while minimizing drag.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2017Publication date: February 1, 2018Inventor: Vijay Rao

Publication number: 20170126598Abstract: Methods and systems consistent with the present invention provide a file delivery system for transmitting files to recipients using email, which may be used with existing email infrastructure. Email clients may “attach” files to an email by an attachment process. The attachment process, however, associates a placeholder with the email instead of the actual file. The placeholder is replaced with a URL link to the file and the email is sent. The system moves the attachments over the network to a remote server that is capable of delivering the attachments to the email recipients. File attachments are routed to recipients independent of the associated email.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 11, 2016Publication date: May 4, 2017Inventors: Nikhil Jhingan, Vinod U. Vasnani, Chee Siang Lim, Neeraj Arora, E. Vijay Rao, Amit Mongia

Publication number: 20160230742Abstract: A vertical-axis wind turbine mounts a plurality of wind-catching blades for rotation relative to two arms which sandwich each of the blades. A wind-directional vane provides a micro-processor data on the wind direction via a rotary encoder. In a first embodiment, a plurality of vane-position sensors and motors transmit and receive, respectively, information which adjusts the vane positions as a feedback loop. An alternate configuration utilizes home-position sensors which transmit the rotary displacement from the home position of each of the vanes to the micro-controller which keeps track of the respective vane positions and transmits repositioning information to the stepper motors to optimize energy extracted from the available wind currents by rotating the noses of the vanes to extend generally directly into the wind.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 5, 2015Publication date: August 11, 2016Inventor: Vijay Rao

Patent number: 7113948Abstract: The present invention provides is a file delivery system for transmitting files to recipients using email, which may be used with existing email infrastructures. High volumes of large file attachments may be handled by routing attachments independent of an associated email. An attachment distribution system extracts the attachments of emails at mail servers and routes them through a hosting server thereby alleviating server loading on the mail server. The system may be configured for delivery optimization, recipient authentication and delivery confirmation. The system examines emails flowing through a distributed network of mail servers, and may invoke attachment extraction based on configurable rules like attachment size and sender validity, and move the attachments over the Internet or Intranet to a remote server that is capable of delivering the attachments to the email recipients.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2003Date of Patent: September 26, 2006Assignee: Acellion PTE Ltd.Inventors: Nikhil Jhingan, Vinod U. Patent number: 5978481Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting encoded data from one computer system to another using an AT command set compatible communication device is described. Data being sent from a communications application to the AT command set compatible communication device is monitored, and encryption is performed in response to detecting a connect message and a carrier detect signal received from the communication device and changing in response to said detection the state of an encryption application from a first state to a remote state and the data is encrypted using a stream encryption scheme before it is passed to the communication device. When a break sequence is detected or a carrier detect signal is deasserted, encryption is ceased thus having the encryption application automatically return to the first state.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 1997Date of Patent: November 2, 1999Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Ramanan V.
