  • Patent number: 11922336
Abstract: The invention is ontology-based architecture for performing semantic data mining for insights. The major components of the architecture are illustrated using Network Ontology (NO), an ontology generated for the network domain for delivering improved network management. In addition, algorithms for summarizing performance profiles in the form of rank tables and for extracting insight rules (concrete action plan) from the rank tables are presented. By using this approach, an actionable plan for assisting decision maker can be obtained, as domain knowledge is incorporated in the system. Experimental results on a network dataset show that this model provides an optimal action plan for a network to improve its performance by encoding data-driven rules into the ontology and suggesting changes to its current network configuration.

  • Publication number: 20200118643
Abstract: A method of comparing three dimensional structure of polymers such as proteins is provided herein comprising the steps of developing at least one key of the protein wherein each said at least one key is based on a quintuple of features consisting of three non-collinear objects in said protein, a representative angle between the three non-collinear objects, and a representative edge length, and comparing the key to either a known database of keys or a key developed for another protein to determine the protein or run a comparison thereof. Additionally, the invention includes a novel method of discovering motifs using key generation. The invention also covers a novel method for representation of protein and drug 3-D structures for the prediction of drug and target interactions.

  • Patent number: 9177047
Abstract: Various embodiments provide a system, method, and computer program product for sorting and/or selectively retrieving a plurality of documents in response to a user query. More particularly, embodiments are provided that convert each document into a corresponding document language model and convert the user query into a corresponding query language model. The language models are used to define a vector space having dimensions corresponding to terms in the documents and in the user query. The language models are mapped in the vector space. Each of the documents is then ranked, wherein the ranking is based at least in part on a position of the mapped language models in the vector space, so as to determine a relative relevance of each of the plurality of documents to the user query.

  • Publication number: 20090083208
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention provide systems, methods, and computer programs for generating a hypothesis. Specifically, some method embodiments include steps for accessing a system for extracting relationships and determining a relationship rule defining a relationship among a plurality of phrases and a plurality of concepts stored in the system for extracting relationships. Such embodiments further provide steps for parsing a plurality of documents in a data repository according to the relationship rule and generating a hypothesis comprising a previously unknown combination of phrases and concepts being at least partially determined from the parsed plurality of documents. Various embodiments also provide a step for presenting the hypothesis to a user so as to indicate the previously unknown combination.
