Abstract: A method for creating workload model to test performance of a critical application in a data processing network (112) is disclosed. The method includes receiving (202), at one of the plurality of data processing units (114a), an activity log with a plurality of entities from the data processing network (112). The method further includes creating (204) a transaction log of all transactions conducted using the activity log. Further the method determines (206) a plurality of transaction metrics using the transaction log, wherein the plurality of transaction metrics comprises an average transaction response time, a transaction throughput etc. The method further creates a workload model to test the critical performance of an application in the data processing network (112) based on the plurality of transaction metrics and provide effective performance test strategies.

Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for presenting an advertisement is described. A request to access a web page may be received from a requester via a network. The request may be generated in response to selection of a link to the web page on another web page. A response may be transmitted back to the requester. The response may include the requested web page as well as an ad script that may be executed after receipt of the response by the requester. The ad script may generate an ad request that includes one or more ad parameters extracted from the response. These ad parameters may include information about a network address of the other page. The generated ad request may then be received via the network. One or more advertisements may then be selected for presentment to the requester utilizing the ad parameters of the ad request.

Abstract: A system and method for translating and reformatting content are described. The system includes an enterprise service bus configured to receive a request from a first device to transmit media to a second device, the media including content in a first language. The system also includes network appliance as a service server-side application including a translation service and a formatting service. The translation service receives the request from the enterprise service bus, determines a second language for translation, determines the content for translation and translates the content to the second language. The formatting service generates a new version of the media including the content in the second language, the new version being formatted in a layout similar to an original version of the image. The enterprise services bus transmits the new version of the media to the second device for display.

Abstract: Methods and mobile handsets provide applications with access to locality identifier information heretofore not shared with applications. By accessing the locality identifier from memory, applications can provide location-specific services, such as alarms and location-specific themes. The locality identifier can be compared to a criteria table in memory to determine if an application should be notified or activated. The criteria table may include time and date criteria, so application notification can depend upon time, date and location information.

Abstract: An electronic device comprises a semiconductor memory cell having a bistable bit storage circuit having first and second power contact points. A first switch is coupled to the first power contact point to receive a first voltage. A second switch coupled to the second power contact point to receive a second voltage. Circuitry is provided for turning off the first and second switches to decouple the respective first and second voltages from the respective first and second power contact points, during stand-by operation of the electronic device.

Abstract: In general, one aspect of the subject matter described can be embodied in methods that include obtaining one or more image regions from a first image of an eye. Each of the image regions may include a view of a respective portion of the white of the eye. The method may further include applying several distinct filters to each of the image regions to generate a plurality of respective descriptors for the region. The several distinct filters may include convolutional filters that are each configured to describe one or more aspects of an eye vasculature and in combination describe a visible eye vasculature in a feature space. A match score may be determined based on the generated descriptors and based on one or more descriptors associated with a second image of eye vasculature.

An enterprise service bus (ESB) generates a first list of one or more devices, receives a selection from a user associated with a first device of a second device in the first list, generates a second list that includes functions associated with the selection from the first user, receives a request from the first device to perform one of the functions in the second list, translates a first communication protocol of the request received from the first device into a second communication protocol used by the second device to create a translated request, translates a first message format of the request into a second message format and transmits the translated request to the second device.

Abstract: A system and method for integrating one or more resource servers for one or more types of devices are described using an enterprise service bus and network appliance as a service (NAaaS) application services. The enterprise service bus receives a request for one or more types of media, determines a first communication protocol of the request and one or more types of second communication protocols of the one or more resource servers, translates the request from a first communication protocol into one or more types of second communication protocols for one or more resource servers and retrieves one or more results matching the translated request from the one or more resource servers. A NAaaS application services determine one or more resource servers that the request is for based on the request matching a global index.

Abstract: A method of using an access manager server to establish a communication session between a resource and a user device may include receiving a request from the user device to access the resource, determining that the client system is registered as a trusted partner, sending the client system a first encrypted token that includes a resource identifier where the client system has access to a first cryptographic key that decrypts the first encrypted token. The method may also include receiving a second encrypted token that signifies that access to the resource has been granted by the client system where the second token comprises a user identifier and the access manager server has access to a second cryptographic key that decrypts the second token. The method may additionally include decrypting the second token and establishing the communication session between the user device and the resource using the user identifier.

Abstract: A system and method for generating user profiles for human resources are described. The system includes an enterprise service bus configured to receive a request to transmit media to a device and route the media to a device and network appliance as a service (NAaaS) application services configured to receive the request from the enterprise services bus, generate a user profile for a user, log a device usage entry that includes a unique identifier for the user, a unique identifier for the device and an action associated with the request, determine one or more keywords relating to content in the media, generate an index that includes the one or more keywords and update the user profile for the user based on the one or more keywords.

The clock delay determining portion can determine a clock delay. The DQS delay determining portion can determine a DQS delay. The adjustment portion can generate an adjustment value based on the clock delay and the DQS delay. The controlling portion can instruct the DQS signal provider to adjust a time of providing a second DQS signal based on the adjustment value, wherein the clock delay is less than the DQS delay.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods and computer programs provided for metering and accounting in a commercial e-services infrastructure address the requirement for handling composite services in which higher-level services are built using simpler underlying services, each of which may be autonomously owned and operated. Metering records for each service underlying a composite service are correlated by a process associated with the composite service, and then sent to an accounting service where they can be aggregated. The correlation is performed in a distributed manner with correlated usage data provided on a per-request basis. Accounting services can take account of the usage and charges associated with the underlying services to provide accounting and billing on a per-request basis or per customer-provider pair for a billing period.

Abstract: A storage circuit 2 in the form of a master slave latch includes a slave stage 6 serving as a bit storage circuit. The slave stage 6 includes an inverter chain which when operating in a normal mode includes an even number of inverters 10, 12 and when operating in an random number generation mode includes an odd number of inverters 10, 12, 14 and so functions as a free running ring oscillator. When a switch is made back from the random number generation mode to the normal mode, then the oscillation ceases and a stable pseudo random bit value is output from the bit value storage circuit 6.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to treatments involving glutaredoxins. In one aspect, systems and methods of the invention can be used to treat a subject having an oxidative stress condition, for example, airway inflammation or asthma. In some embodiments, a glutaredoxin may be used to treat a subject. Also provided in certain aspects of the present invention are kits for therapies involving glutaredoxins, methods for promoting such therapies, and the like.

Abstract: A power amplifier power controller in the power amplifier system monitors various operating conditions of the power amplifier, and controls the output transmit power of the power amplifier by coordinated control of both the input drive level to the power amplifier and the gain of the power amplifier. The power amplifier power controller controls the input drive level to the power amplifier so that the input drive level does not change substantially while adjusting the gain of the power amplifier to maximize the transmit power. The power amplifier power controller may also adjust the input drive level by some portion of the overall change required to the power of the power amplifier, while adjusting the gain of the power amplifier by the remaining portion of such overall change.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods of maintaining a cell database for wireless communications include discovering a second cell to which a user equipment may reselect. In an aspect, the user equipment may be currently served by a first cell and the second cell is a closed subscriber group cell. Further, aspects include querying a fingerprinting database to determine whether the second cell was previously recorded in the fingerprinting database. Upon determining that the second cell was not previously recorded, further aspects include adding the second cell to the fingerprinting database. Adding the second cell may comprise indicating an association between the first cell and the second cell in the fingerprinting database.
