  • Patent number: 12500864
Abstract: An access control device monitors devices on a local area network and transmits alerts to a premises operator upon detection of any failures based on monitored operational data. The access control device transmits alerts to relevant device maintenance vendors regarding failures. Vendor alerts may be automatic or may be instigated by the premises operator. The vendor may be provided temporary remote access to one or more devices on the premises LAN for troubleshooting, remote repair, or configuration purposes without port forwarding by a network access device. Access rights may be time limited or cease upon completion of a maintenance activity by the vendor, and may be retracted at any time by the premises operator. The access control device limits network access of the vendor to only permitted devices; no other devices on the network are visible to or accessible by the vendor.

  • Publication number: 20250069458
Abstract: A premises management system operates within a premises network to control access to information about assets or locations within the premises. The system receives a user identifier associated with an individual user from a user device and authenticates access rights of the user to connect with the system based upon the user identifier. The system further identifies a role of the user based upon the user identifier. The system further receives a unique identifier from a scan by a user device of a smart code physically associated with one of the assets or locations. The system identifies permissions held by the user to access information related to the selected asset or location based upon a combination of both the role and the unique identifier. The system requests information related to the selected asset or location from a data storage device connected to the network. A storage location of the information on the data storage device is associated with the unique identifier.

  • Publication number: 20250068133
Abstract: A computer system connected within a local network ingests telemetry data received from devices or sensors located within a premises and connected to the network. A virtual measuring instrument module instantiates within the computer system and includes communication protocol interfaces and predefined data transformation tools provisioned for interaction with telemetry data generated by the devices or sensors. The application associates with a subnetwork of the local network to which the devices or sensors are collectively connected. The subnetwork uses a first communication protocol that is different a protocol used on the local network. The communication protocol interfaces include a first interface that uses the first communication protocol. The telemetry data is received within the application from the devices or sensors on the first subnetwork using the first communication protocol interface as received telemetry data.

  • Patent number: 12111925
Abstract: The presently disclosed subject matter includes a system for monitoring a set of command lines or calls to executable scripts configured to be executed by an operating system. Each command line from the set of command lines is associated with an executable script configured to be executed by an operating system. The apparatus classifies, via a machine learning model, a command line from the set of command lines into an obfuscation category and prevents the operating system from executing the command line and generates a notification signal when the obfuscation category indicates that the command line is part of a cybersecurity attack. The apparatus allows the operating system to execute the command line or call to the executable script when the obfuscation category indicates that the command line is not part of a cybersecurity attack.

  • Publication number: 20230388213
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring operations and detecting failures of a plurality of connected devices installed on a premises determines the correct vendor for failure resolution and provides the vendor with a secure and limited mechanism to access assigned devices remotely for servicing. The system limits vendor access to only devices configured on a respective virtual network provisioned in a container provided on a network monitoring device.

  • Publication number: 20040049560
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that uses a file system operation to drive the process of configuring a computer system to operate with a device. During operation, the system receives an access request for the device. If a driver for the device has not been previously loaded, the system loads the driver for the device. Next, the system creates an instance of the driver for the device and attaches the instance so that the computer system is able to access the device. Finally, the system accesses the device to satisfy the request. In a variation of this embodiment, the access request specifies a path for the device, wherein the path includes one or more path components. Before loading the driver, the system first parses the path to identify the driver for the device as well as an address for the device from a path component. The system uses this address to identify the device prior to creating the instance of the driver for the device.
