  • Patent number: 10589764
Abstract: The example embodiments are directed to a device and method for determining a root cause of equipment failure. In one example, the method includes storing a plurality of root causes of previous equipment failures, receiving textual data associated with a current equipment failure, determining a root cause for the current equipment failure by determining a similarity of keywords of each root cause with respect to the received textual data of the current equipment failure and selecting at least one root cause based on the determined similarities of the plurality of root causes, and displaying the at least one determined root cause for the current equipment failure via a display device. The example embodiments provide a system and method that automatically determine a root cause of equipment failure rather than rely on a subject matter expert.

  • Publication number: 20180189344
Abstract: The example embodiments are directed to an onboarding portal for adding a new IoT software item to a cloud platform. In an example, a web service of the cloud platform may receive a plurality of user inputs associated with an IoT analytic application input via an onboarding user interface. Meanwhile, a workflow engine of the cloud platform may distribute the plurality of user inputs to a plurality of workstations for verifying the plurality of user inputs, receive status notifications indicating whether the user inputs have been successfully verified, and output the status notifications to a user device associated with the IoT analytic application. The web service and the workflow engine provide an end-to-end communication between a user portal and a cloud computing environment making it possible to efficiently test and subsequently add an IoT application to the cloud platform.

  • Publication number: 20180095959
Abstract: Provided are a system and method for analyzing and processing satellite data having a plurality of formats. In one example, a method includes extracting satellite data from source files that include a plurality of file formats, identifying spatial data and non-spatial data from the extracted satellite data, identifying a point of interest from the spatial data and mapping information for the non-spatial data based on the point of interest, determining time series data corresponding to the point of interest from the non-spatial data based on the mapping information identified from the spatial data, and displaying time series data at the point of interest. According to various embodiments, the method and system are capable of extracting satellite data from files having different file formats and performing analysis on the data regardless of its format.

  • Publication number: 20180096295
Abstract: Provided are a system and method for determining a future delivery status of a purchase order. In one example, the method includes receiving delivery information about previous orders of a supplier, generating one or more models indicating whether an order of the supplier is going to be delivered on-time based on the delivery information about the previous orders, determining that a current order of the supplier is going to be delayed based on the one or more models, and outputting a user interface displaying an indication that the current order is going to be delayed. The system and method described herein can determine whether an industrial purchase order will be late at least six weeks in advance or more thus making it possible for customers to take alternative measures.
