    Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for a media guidance application on a first device that detects a user's engagement with a second device, and alerts the user to an important event in the media asset, thereby reminding the user to view the media asset presented on the first device. The media guidance application may determine when the next important event will occur in the media asset and determine an estimated usage time of the second device based on the application with which the user is engaged on the second device. Depending on the estimated usage time and the time of the next important event in the media asset, the media guidance application may restrict the amount of content presented to the user on the second device so that the user will end his or her engagement with the second device prior to the important event.

In response to determining that the subsequent scene is not more memorable than the current scene, providing of the media content is paused at the current scene.

In order to resolve the conflict, one vehicle is instructed to yield to the other vehicle until the path is clear. The vehicles are instructed based on whether one or both vehicles are displaying a media asset (e.g., a movie) to passengers, and the amount of time left in the media asset compared to the amount of time left until the vehicles reach their destinations.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for dynamically modifying a playlist for reviewing highlights of a media event. A playlist comprising highlights of a media event may be generated by a media guidance application. A user command may be received by the media guidance application to extend or shorten the currently-playing segment of the playlist. To generate a longer version of the segment, the media guidance application may access the media asset from which the playlist was originally generated at a position corresponding to the currently-playing segment, and generate a longer version of the segment. To generate a shorter version of the segment, the media guidance application may remove a portion of the currently-playing segment. The media guidance application may replace the currently-playing segment with, and begin playing back, the modified version of the segment.
