  • Patent number: 11032723
Abstract: A computer device may include a memory configured to store instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to select a communication session associated with a wireless communication device; determine a service requirement for the selected communication session; determine an end-to-end latency for the selected communication session; and compute a repeat requests adjustment based on the determined service requirement and the determined end-to-end latency. The processor may be further configured to instruct a base station device associated with the communication session to adjust the maximum number of repeat requests transmissions based on the determined repeat requests adjustment.

  • Patent number: 9749880
Abstract: A method performed by a base station in a network, includes detecting a malfunction associated with a backhaul link to the network; identifying one or more neighboring base stations located within a transmission range of the base station; selecting at least one of the one or more neighboring base stations based on one or more parameters, associated with the one or more neighboring base stations, in response to detecting the malfunction; receiving, by a radio frequency (RF) transceiver associated with the base station, a signal from a user equipment; and transmitting, by an RF transceiver associated with the base station, the signal to the selected at least one of the one or more neighboring base stations.

  • Patent number: 8375245
Abstract: A method, performed by a first mobility management entity (MME) device in a network, includes receiving, from a second MME device, standby database information associated with user equipment (UE) registered with the second MME device; detecting that the second MME device has failed or lost connectivity; designating that the UEs registered with the second MME device will be registered with the first MME device, in response to detecting that the second MME device has failed or lost connectivity; detecting a request to activate a particular UE registered with the second MME device; and paging the particular UE to register with the first MME device, using the standby database information and in response to detecting the request to activate the particular UE.

  • Patent number: 7477911
Abstract: Presented herein is a method and system for facilitating registration of a wireless push to talk device with various network components of a cellular system. In the exemplary embodiment, subsequent attempts to register with the network component are timed according to the Reg_PRD value of the IS-95 System Parameter Message. Other values associated with the applicable wireless carrier protocol may similarly be used.

  • Patent number: 7260087
Abstract: Voice over data-packet protocol, for example voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), type communications in a network providing wireless packet data service are optimized by implementation of a mobile station initiated negotiation of radio protocol parameters adapted specifically to support the voice over data-packet application. Call set-up signaling for such a call utilizes a set of parameters for radio communication defined for a normal packet data service, for example, with packet retransmission between the base station and the mobile station. The mobile station recognizes the VoIP communication. When VoIP call set-up signaling over the robust link is complete, the mobile station sends a request to the radio network to modify one or more of the radio parameters, for example, to turn-OFF the packet retransmission; to facilitate the actual communication of VoIP packets.
