  • Patent number: 4326410
Abstract: There is provided an engine test method whereby the engine involved is started and the systems thereof are regulated so as to obtain steady running, whereupon, by controlling fuel feed, a running-in process is performed by repeatedly carrying out runup-rundown cycles. In every running-in cycle, beginning with the first one, at least one of the parameters, for example, the acceleration of rundown, is measured and analyzed for the purpose of assessing the technical condition of the engine on which basis the parameters of the next running-in cycle are selected, the running-in process being ended at the instant when the engine reaches the predetermined technical condition.

  • Patent number: 4238692
Abstract: The production of start pulses a periodic motion process involves simultaneous generation of a basic train of pulses of a periodic motion phase, at the moment the phase is reached, and a main time interval. The duration of the main time interval is selected in dependence upon the process speed variation pattern. An initial train of pulses of the periodic motion phase, forming part of the basic pulse train, is stored during the main time interval. Upon expiration of the main time interval, an additional time interval is generated equal to at least a fraction of the pulse period of the basic pulse train, with due consideration for the parameters of physical processes influencing the periodic motion. Electric pulses are stored during the additional time interval. Then, at the moment the next phase is reached, a start pulse train is generated and the pulses of the start and initial trains are simultaneously added.

  • Patent number: 4236085
Abstract: A method for producing trigger pulses in relation to a preset phase of motion proceeding with a continuously variable period, whereby pulses are accumulated, and at the same time two time intervals are successively determined within the fundamental time interval as the phase of the motion is changed by a preset value. The durations of these two time intervals and the sign of the difference between them are used to correct the number of stored pulses which are counted until a preset number is reached, which moment marks the onset of a trigger pulse. The device for effecting this method comprises a unit for determining the difference between time intervals and correcting the fundamental time interval, which is connected to a control unit, a main pulse counter and a main controlled frequency divider connected, in turn, to a pulse generator. The control unit is connected to a control pulse unit and an initial adjustment unit.

  • Patent number: 4215404
Abstract: An automatic device comprises a complex plane analyzer of a vibration signal of a measured engine unit, electrically coupled via a switch to a computer. The device also comprises a synchronization unit whose inputs are connected to sensors of the angular position of the vehicle engine shaft and transmission shaft, an ignition sensor and a sensor of fuel injection to the cylinders of the vehicle engine. A control input of the unit is coupled to the output of a control unit. There is also an operational parameter measuring unit connected by its inputs to outputs of the synchronization unit and to the output of the control unit. An engine shaft rotational frequency adjustment unit is connected by its input to the control unit and to the synchronization unit and by its output to the actuator controlling fuel supply to the engine cylinders.

  • Patent number: 4202206
Abstract: A device for measuring the power output of an internal-combustion engine comprises a serial arrangement including a pickup for taking up the speed of rotation of the shaft of the internal-combustion engine, a pulse former, a selector for selecting the speed of rotation of the shaft of the internal-combustion engine, a unit for controlling the device, a unit for producing a train of electric pulses, a unit for determining the difference of two adjacent pulse trains, and a unit for recording the measurement results. Connected to the engine shaft speed selector are an engine duty control unit and a clock pulse generator. The pulse train producing unit is connected to the pulse former to which a unit for producing a preset number of pulses is connected. The device control unit and the unit for producing a preset number of pulses are connected to the unit for determining the difference of two adjacent pulse trains and to the clock pulse generator.
