  • Publication number: 20240166179
Abstract: A computer system comprising a processor device configured to control an acceleration of a vehicle is provided. The vehicle comprises a set of auxiliary brakes. The processor device obtains an acceleration condition of the vehicle. The acceleration condition being indicative of any one out of: an acceleration of the vehicle, the absolute value of which is below a predetermined acceleration limit value; a predefined positive acceleration of the vehicle, and a predefined negative acceleration of the vehicle. The processor device is further configured to, in response to determining that the vehicle can be controlled in accordance with the obtained acceleration condition using the set of auxiliary brakes, control the set of auxiliary brakes in accordance with the obtained acceleration condition of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11796053
Abstract: Methods for controlling a transmission of a vehicle are provided. Such methods include establishing a desired speed profile for the vehicle when travelling along a road segment, performing a plurality of simulations, each of a vehicle response, in the road segment, to a respective gear control action, wherein the gear control action differs from one simulation to another, wherein the simulations include an aim to keep the speed on the speed profile, or within one or more established limits of deviations from the speed profile, determining costs for the simulated vehicle responses, selecting, in dependence on the determined costs, one of the gear control actions, controlling the transmission with the selected gear control action.

  • Publication number: 20230242121
Abstract: A method for controlling a powertrain system of a heavy-duty vehicle, the powertrain system having at least one differential arrangement for receiving torque from a propulsion unit of the powertrain system and delivering at least a part of the torque to a set of first and second wheels, the method being implemented by a control unit, the method comprising determining a split-friction condition indicative of a wheel slip difference between the first and second wheels, wherein one of the first and second wheels defines a high-friction side of the differential arrangement and the other one of the first and second wheels defines a low-friction side of the differential arrangement; determining a target wheel slip for the high-friction side; and in response to the determined split-friction condition; controlling a brake force on the low-friction side of the differential arrangement based on the target wheel slip on the high-friction side.
