  • Publication number: 20060047106
Abstract: The present invention is directed to novel Neisseria meningitidis lipo-oligosaccharide inner core molecules, conjugates thereof and immunogenic compositions thereof. In particular embodiments, the invention relates to multivalent immunogenic compositions comprising five distinct Neisseria meningitidis inner core lipo-oligosaccharide epitope groups, wherein the multivalent compositions induce cross-reactive immune responses against Neisseria meningitidis lipo-oligosaccharide immunotypes.

  • Patent number: 6936258
Abstract: A negatively-charged Staphylococcus antigen contains amino acids and a N-acetylated hexosamine as a major carbohydrate component. The antigen is common to many coagulase-negative strains of Staphylococcus, including S. epidermidis, S. haemolyticus, and S. hominis. Staphylococcus strains that carry the antigen include many clinically significant strains of Staphylococcus. The antigen and antibodies to the antigen are useful in kits and assays for diagnosing Staphylococcus infection. Vaccines of the antigen and of whole cells that carry the antigen also are disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 19, 1999
Date of Patent: August 30, 2005
    Assignee: NABI Biopharmaceuticals
