  • Publication number: 20090314699
Abstract: The invention relates to a water purification apparatus comprising a sedimentation basin (10), a flotation basin (20), a flow channel for conveying water containing impurities as flow (A) into the sedimentation basin (10) and means for conveying the purified water out of the water purification apparatus. A flow channel (17) leading out of the sedimentation basin (10) is connected to a mixing channel (21) placed in the flotation basin (20) and containing micro-bubbles, the water in the sedimentation basin (10) which still contains small amounts of impurities being arranged to flow via the flow channel (17) into the mixing channel (21), where the remaining impurities stick to the micro-bubbles in the mixing channel (21) and rise together with the micro-bubbles to the upper surface of the flotation basin (20).

  • Publication number: 20080134891
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and an apparatus for purifying combustion gases, especially combustion gases exhausted from maritime diesel engines and combustion gases produced by power plants situated near the seaside, of impurities contained in the combustion gases. The apparatus comprises a scrubber device (10) for scrubbing the combustion gases and a droplet separator device (20) for separating scrubbing liquid droplets from the outflowing purified combustion gas flow (D). The scrubber device (10) comprises an inflow duct (13) for conveying an overpressurised combustion gas flow (A) containing impurities into the scrubber device (10) and means (16,17,18) for passing seawater used as scrubbing liquid into the scrubber device (10). At least the scrubbing liquid flowing out of the scrubber device (10) has been fitted to flow into the flotation device (30) for the separation of soot particles, oil and other possible solid impurity particles contained in the scrubbing liquid from the scrubbing liquid.

  • Patent number: 5858042
Abstract: A method and apparatus for improving the separation efficiency of a cyclone separator intended for gaseous medium flows in which an incoming gaseous medium flow to be cleansed is directed into the cyclone separator through an inlet duct such that the incoming medium flow ends up in a downward, revolving flow movement inside the cyclone separator until the incoming medium flow reaches a bottom end of a conical lower part of the cyclone separator, and then becomes a revolving tornado flow that flows in a generally upward direction opposite to the direction of the downward, revolving flow movement. An outlet flow of cleansed gaseous medium is directed through a center pipe situated in the cyclone separator. A component-flow pipe is arranged in the center pipe such that the component-flow pipe has an inlet opening in a wall of the center pipe.

  • Patent number: 5759408
Abstract: A method for treating a liquid flow to be cleaned passing through a flow line into a flotation plant including passing a portion of the liquid flow to be cleaned from the flow line along a first branch line into a pump. The suction capacity of the pump is regulated to draw in a direct flow of gas so that the pump sucks the gas as a direct flow. The drawn-in direct flow of gas is then mixed with the liquid flow in the pump and passed along a discharge pipe of the pump into a mixing part wherein the discharge pipe ends in a pressure release. The remaining portion of the liquid flow to be cleaned from the flow line is then passed along a second branch line into the mixing part. A liquid flow is discharged from the pressure release, the liquid flow including gas bubbles containing dissolved gas.

  • Patent number: 5181944
Abstract: The invention relates to a wet blaster/wet washer, in which the blaster is an essential component, from which the outlet occurs in accordance with the invention from the middle section of a hood via a ring channel formed by a pipe channel (7) concentric with an inlet channel (2). The centrifugal field caused by an impeller (3) of the blaster slings the massive liquid exceeding the saturation point out of the gas, and the washed, treated, transferring gas thereby dries out of the liquid. The separated liquid is removed as a flow (D) by using a suitable outlet (5).
