  • Publication number: 20240137958
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may support two or more uplink switching periods for transmit chain switching. The UE may transmit a UE capability message indicating the UE capability to support a first uplink switching period and a second uplink switching period for transmit chain switching. The first uplink switching period and the second uplink switching period may each correspond to different switching periods associated with configuration switches between different transmit chain configurations of the UE. The UE and a base station may select an uplink switching period from among the first uplink switching period and the second uplink switching period. The UE may transmit an uplink data message to the base station after a preparation time that is based on the uplink switching period.

  • Patent number: 11889427
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, signaling that indicates a relative power difference between a first cell and a second cell. The UE may apply the relative power difference in a transmission occasion that includes at least a first uplink transmission on the first cell and a second uplink transmission on the second cell, wherein applying the relative power difference causes the first uplink transmission on the first cell to be transmitted at a lower power level than the second uplink transmission on the second cell. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Patent number: 11871361
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine that uplink communications are to be performed between the UE and a first cell group associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and between the UE and a second cell group associated with a second RAT. The UE may determine that the UE is configured for power sharing for the uplink communications with the first cell group associated with the first RAT and the second cell group associated with the second RAT. The UE may calculate, based on the power sharing and the uplink communications, a power reduction factor for the uplink communications between the UE and the second cell group. The UE may perform the uplink communications with the first cell group and selectively perform the uplink communications with the second cell group.

  • Publication number: 20230413037
Abstract: A method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes transmitting, to a base station, an uplink capability message indicating a coherent uplink multiple-in-multiple-out (MIMO) capability associated with coherent transmission characteristics. The method also includes receiving, from the base station, a switch parameter that configures the UE for a transmission chain switch. The method further includes receiving, from the base station, a switching message that triggers the transmission chain switch between a reference signal (RS) transmission and a scheduled data communication. The method still further includes transmitting the data communication according to one or more non-coherent transmission characteristics based on the transmission chain switch being triggered between the RS transmission and the scheduled data communication.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may perform a calibration to improve the accuracy, reliability, or both of signal transmissions. For example, the UE may determine a calibration offset between a reference time and a calibration gap according to an equation using at least the identifier as input. During the calibration gap, the UE may transmit a calibration signal using one or more antenna ports and may calibrate (e.g., adjust power amplification for) the one or more antenna ports based on an estimated actual transmit power for the calibration signal (e.g., received by other antenna ports of the UE or received by another device).
