Abstract: A printer or copier operates to print a carrier material on both sides. A transfer station in the printer or copier has two transfer bands which transfer toner images onto the supporting material. A transfer corotron recharges the toner particles to a polarity for transfer to the carrier material at a transfer location. A first transfer mode provides for accumulating a plurality of toner images on the transfer band before transfer to the carrier material. A second transfer mode provides continuous transfer of the toner image to the carrier material.

Abstract: An electrographic printing unit containing at least two printing units whose transfer printing points lie opposite one another is shown and described. This configuration enables high-speed duplex printing. Also disclosed is a printing unit with a photoconducting band and two exposure units located along the perimeter thereof. The exposure units superimpose two latent images each time the photoconducting band rotates.

Abstract: A turn-over apparatus for a printer for printing on both sides of a web-shaped recording medium has two acutely angled deflectors to turn the recording medium over. The angles of the deflectors are such that the converging ends of the deflectors are spaced apart. Automatic threading of the recording medium is provided.

Abstract: A turnover device is provided having a W-shaped arrangement of hollow rod-like deflector rods and reverser rods with an automatic threading device. The turnover device receives continuous paper in an admission slot, self-threads the paper therethrough, and returns the paper through a discharge slot in a flipped-over manner for use with a multi-functional, electrographic printer device for printing a web-shaped recording medium in simplex and duplex printing. The rods are preferably hollow with air holes to provide an air cushion between the rod and paper. Guide channels are also preferably disposed over each rod to guide the paper thereover.
